Fare rules state that this offer will expire on September 23, 2019. It is valid for flights between November 1, 2019 through March 31, 2020 – but availabilities can only be found in 2020. A minimum stay of at least three nights or a night from saturday to sunday applies as well as a maximum stay of one month.

You can find these flights on Google Flights (instructions). Prices there are a little bit higher than those you’ll find in our flight search – it is still the best way to find out on which days prices are lowest. You can book the lowest fare via an OTA or for €80 more at alitalia.com.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Info

Please note that Alitalia is in constant financial trouble, leaving the future of the airline in jeopardy. While we are positive that your flights will take place, you might wanna think twice before spending a large amount of money on these tickets.

Mileage

Alitalia issues tickets in booking class F. Despite the long travel distance, you can only earn very limited mileage in either Alitalia’s MilleMiglia or Delta’s SkyMiles.

Santiago de Chile, the country’s capital nestled at the foot of the Andes, offers a mix of historic and modern attractions. Key sights include the panoramic Cerro San Cristóbal, the bustling Plaza de Armas, and the nearby vineyards in the Maipo Valley. The local currency is the Chilean peso (CLP), and while prices are moderate by global standards, Santiago can feel expensive compared to other South American cities—expect higher costs in dining and accommodation. The weather is Mediterranean: hot, dry summers (December–March) and mild, rainy winters (June–August), so pack accordingly.
