You can currently fly non-stop from Barcelona to Chicago (and back, of course) for only €309 in April. This price, however, only includes hand luggage. Bringing 23 kg of checked luggage on your trip will raise the price to €429, which is still a very good price for non-stop flights to the windy city. While the tickets are (for whatever reason) sold at that cheapest price by Finnair, the flights are operated by American Airlines.
Our calendar displays all the cheapest dates and will redirect you to Finnair’s booking site, where you’ll get the cheapest price:

American Airlines only offers these non-stop flights between Chicago and Barcelona in its winter schedule. This year, a Boeing 787 is planned for this route, offering a 3-3-3 economy class (2-3-2 in the last two rows) with on-demand video screens and power sockets to charge your devices. The flights take about 9 hours.
Search & Book
This deal expires on April 14, 2024. It is limited to flights departing between Monday and Thursday (though, we’ve found some exceptions) and you need to spend at least one Sunday in the USA before flying back.
From what we can see on Google Flights (and our own calendar above), these cheap prices can only be found on the first month of the summer schedule, i.e. in April. Later in the year, these flights cost over twice as much. You can get the cheapest price on Finnair’s website.
Mileage
Finnair issues these tickets as Finnair flights, issued in booking class O. That would mean that the entire round-trip should get you:

- 2,204 Miles on American AAdvantage

Information & Tips for USA
The United States offers a wide range of tourist sights, from national parks like Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon to cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. The currency is the U.S. dollar (USD), and card payments are widely accepted. Prices vary by region but can be high in major cities, especially for accommodation and dining. Weather differs greatly across the country—winters can be harsh in the north, while the south often stays mild; summers are generally hot and humid in many areas.
The U.S. transport infrastructure is highly car-dependent, especially outside major cities. Urban centres like New York, Chicago, and San Francisco have functional public transit, but many other cities have limited options. Between cities, domestic flights are common for long distances, while intercity buses and Amtrak trains cover some routes, though often with slower speeds and less frequency compared to other countries. Without a car, getting around can be inconvenient in many parts of the country.
