All seats can be fully converted into a lie-flat bed. In addition, each seat has a USB port and a power outlet so you can charge your own devices during the flight. There is no in-flight entertainment system installed in the seats; instead, iPads are supposed to be provided.

The following photo gives an impression of the seat:

A recent review of beOnd’s business class can be found at One Mile at a Time. The author praised the food and service on board, as he was pleasantly surprised with the friendliness and level of training from the crew. While the soft product left a positive impression, the hard product drew some criticism, as it is not on par with more modern lie-flat-seats on widebody planes.

Visa Info

Most EU citizens can apply for visa-on-arrival at Male airport. It allows tourists to stay on the islands for up to 30 days.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Miles & Points

We are currently unaware of any mileage credits for these flights. The flights are issued in booking class T.

Information & Tips for Maldives

The Maldives, a tropical island nation in the Indian Ocean, is known for its overwater bungalows, coral reefs, and clear turquoise waters, making it a popular spot for snorkeling, diving, and beach relaxation. The local currency is the Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR), though US dollars are widely accepted in resorts. Prices tend to be high, especially on private islands, with most essentials and activities geared toward luxury tourism. The weather is warm year-round, averaging around 28–31°C, with a dry season from November to April and a wetter monsoon season from May to October.

Transport in the Maldives is limited and varies depending on the island. There are no cities in the conventional sense—Malé, the capital, is the only urban center and is walkable due to its small size. Getting between islands typically requires travel by speedboat, ferry, or seaplane, depending on distance and location. Public ferries are cheaper but slower and less frequent, while private transfers arranged by resorts are faster but expensive. Overall, getting around can be time-consuming and dependent on weather conditions.

Drei Tage vor Abflug storniert aufgrund “Operational Reason”. Kudenservice war top, trotzdem hat das ganze einen fahlen Beigeschmack.
