Star Alliance member TAP continues to amaze with great business class prices. This time, the Portuguese carrier offers premium tickets to Canadian destinations Montreal and Toronto starting at €1,178. Availability is great after September 2023, with flights being available at the lowest fare almost daily. You can also find some scattered availabilities in the months leading up to the Summer.
Canada abolished all Covid-related travel restrictions on October 1, 2022.
TAP flights purchased before June 30, 2022, can be rebooked without having to pay a rebooking fee, but the price difference will have to be paid. This does not apply to Discount fares.

From Amsterdam, you will first fly to Lisbon. After a short layover, you will continue your journey on an Airbus A321 Neo LR to Montreal or onboard an Airbus A330-900neo to Toronto. Operating planes can be changed at any time, however. All TAP planes feature lie-flat seats in the business cabin, arranged in a 1-2-1 (A330) or 1-2 (A321) seating pattern.
Not too long ago, TAP’s Executive Class was infamously subpar. By now, however, all planes have been equipped with new seats that can be converted into fully flat beds and offer quite a high comfort. Especially the Throne seat on the long-range A321 is top-notch, being twice as big as other seats.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
Mileage
