The Route
This short loop from Sydney includes two full days at sea and a stop at Moreton Island. The island offers a chance to spend time on the beach, swim, or take part in water-based activities like snorkelling near the old shipwrecks. The rest of the trip is spent at sea, with time to relax before returning to Sydney.
The Ship
Originally launched as Golden Princess in 2001 and later sailing as Pacific Adventure for P&O Cruises Australia, the Carnival Adventure only recently became part of Carnival in 2025. As a result, it’s still very much in transition, with many public spaces and dining venues still reflecting its P&O past rather than the typical Carnival branding.
The ship is based in Australia, mostly sailing out of Sydney, with cruises around the South Pacific and the Australian coast. It’s a large ship by older standards, carrying around 2,600 passengers, but it doesn’t have the flashier features you’ll find on Carnival’s newer U.S.-based ships. There’s no Guy’s Burger Joint, no 24-hour pizza yet, and the entertainment lineup hasn’t been fully “Carnivalized.”

Reviews so far are mixed. Some passengers enjoy the laid-back atmosphere and family-friendly vibe, especially on shorter getaways. Others have pointed out the lack of Carnival’s signature experiences, uneven service, and signs of age in the ship’s design.
In short, Carnival Adventure is still finding its footing. It may suit you if you’re after a relatively affordable cruise out of Australia and don’t mind that the ship hasn’t fully committed to either of its identities.
Flights
The flights to Australia aren’t included, and probably nobody will fly to Australia just for this cruise. This is more of a “if you happen to be there already” thing. However, if you’re generally searching for good deals to Australia, you may want to take a look at these business class dealz:
