China Southern Airlines brings us a business class deal from Paris to Australia and New Zealand, starting at €2,208. You will get 2x23kg of checked luggage, access to the lounge, and a lie-flat seat for the entire journey from Paris to down under. Departures are available from March to June.
These are some of the airports where you can take advantage of this deal:
Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 21 days. It will forward you to Skyscanner with your selected flight dates.

Apparently, only Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 are deployed. Both offer fairly modern business class seats arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, so you won’t have to climb over seat neighbors. The seats themselves differ:
Boeing 787-9: Vantage XL seat, the same as used by airlines such as SAS, Qantas, EVA Air & Delta One Suite (with a door in the latter)
Airbus A350-900: Recaro CL6710 seat, the same as used by TAP
Occasionally, a Boeing 777 is also used for flights to Australia, which also features lie-flat seats, but of a different type (Stelia Solstys).
Below are two reviews of the China Southern Business Class. The product is mostly praised, although the catering apparently does not quite measure up:
For Melbourne and Sydney, the layover for the outbound flight is just a couple of hours, and for the inbound flight, it’s around 7 hours. For Brisbane, an overnight stay is required on the outbound flight. In the case you want to extend your visit to Guangzhou, it would also be possible.
Search & Book
This deal will expire on March 15, 2024. A minimum stay of six days or a Saturday overnight stay, and a maximum stay of three months applies. Available dates are between March and June.
You can find suitable dates using our calendar above or with the help of Google Flights. We recommend booking directly on China Southern’s website, but you can find cheaper prices with Skyscanner. However, booking on OTAs has its downsides.
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
Mileage
This ticket is issued in booking class I. Here are the miles and points you can earn from this deal from Paris to Melbourne:
- 23,246 Award Miles on Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles
- 21,132 Award Miles on Flying Blue
- 21,132 Award Miles on American AAdvantage
- 21,132 Miles on MEA Cedar Miles
