China Southern is currently selling cheap business class tickets from London to Seoul and Tokyo. Prices start at £1,485 (~€1,701) to Seoul. Flying to Tokyo costs £65 more, but comes with another disadvantage: you have to endure overnight layovers in China if you’re flying to Tokyo. To Seoul, on the other hand, layovers of 3-6 hours are quite acceptable, especially considering that you’ll have lounge access.

China Southern flies both from London Heathrow and London Gatwick, but the cheapest prices are usually from Gatwick (with a few exceptions). The layover is then usually in either Zhengzhou, Beijing, or Guangzhou. On the long-haul flights between London and China, you’ll be sitting in lie-flat seats. On the ~ 2-hour flights between China and Korea/Japan, you’ll usually sit in recliner seats.

China Southern uses Boeing 787-9 planes on most of its routes to London. They come with Vantage XL lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 alignment. You may be familiar with these seats, as some other airlines use them too, such as SAS and China Eastern. Personally, I’ve always found this seat to be very comfortable, both for sleeping and sitting. Some routes use an Airbus A350 – with slightly different seats, but also in a 1-2-1 alignment.
Most European passport holders can spend up to 90 days in Japan visa-free.

By the way, China Southern also has a similar offer for Taipei:
