This summer season, the Costa Favolosa is scheduled to operate out of Germany, offering a variety of cruises departing from the city of Hamburg. An especially attractive offer has recently emerged for a late July 2025 departure, perfectly timed to coincide with the popular summer holiday period.
An inside cabin is bookable from €1,199 per person. If you’d like a little daylight, you can also book outside cabins starting at €1,699 or balcony cabins starting at €2,399 (both prices are per person based on double occupancy). This cruise is particularly worthwhile for families with children, as children up to and including 17 years of age can travel as the third person in the cabin of the paying adult for free. Unfortunately, solo travellers must pay a surcharge of 100%.
Since we published this deal, the price has dropped by another €100.
The price of the trip includes full board in the main and buffet restaurants, as well as water and tea during the buffet opening hours. Additionally, you can use most onboard facilities free of charge and enjoy the entertainment program, including shows in the theater and live music in the bars.
Since January 2025, Icelandic authorities have imposed a fee of ISK 2,500 (~€18) per day and per person for every 24-hour stay in Icelandic ports. During this cruise, you will spend a total of five days in Iceland, resulting in a total fee of approximately ISK 12,500 (~€88) per person.
This fee is mandatory for all guests on cruise ships calling at Iceland – regardless of whether you leave the ship or remain on board. The fee will be charged directly to your onboard account. For transparency, we have already included this fee in the title of this deal.
For your stop in Lerwick you will need to apply for a UK ETA, you can find all the info on this post.

The Route
Your cruise begins in Hamburg. Germany’s second-largest city also boasts the largest harbor in the country in terms of passenger ships, providing an easily accessible starting point for this journey. The first stop is Lerwick in the Shetland Islands. This archipelago belonging to Scotland has nearly 23,000 inhabitants, around 7,000 of whom live in the island’s capital. The main industries are fishing and sheep farming.
Next, the cruise continues to Reykjavik. The capital of Iceland offers a wealth of attractions. Particularly interesting are the modern basalt church Hallgrimskirkja, the National Museum, and the main shopping street Laugavegur. After that, the cruise proceeds to Grundarfjörður, a picturesque coastal town on the west of the island. There, you’ll find Mount Kirkjufell, which invites you for a hike. The next port on the itinerary is Akureyri, where an overnight stay is planned. Possible activities include whale watching tours and an excursion to the Godafoss waterfall.
From Seyðisfjörður, the journey continues to Bergen. Norway’s second-largest city is particularly known for its historic Hanseatic quarter, Bryggen, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The local fish market is also worth a visit. After 12 nights, the cruise concludes back in Hamburg.
