Every day of the week, the routine of Travel-Dealz editors begins with combing through countless offers and suggesting them to our colleagues. After evaluating them, only the best deals make it on our homepage and into our newsletter. In this post, we want to shine a light on offers that were discussed, but ultimately disregarded. But just because we didn’t feel they would be interesting for a broader audience, it doesn’t mean that some people won’t cherish them.
In this section, you can’t expect our usual service – we will give one example for each deal. We can only give hints about details like availability, travel period, other origins/destinations or fare rules.
Table of Contents
€4,400 British Airways First Class to Malaysia
British Airways currently sells first class tickets from many European airports to Kuala Lumpur, available for roughly €4,500 r/t. Prices are not only the cheapest from Madrid, but you can enjoy lie-flat-seats the entire way, because both Iberia and British Airways regularly deploy wide bodies between Heathrow and Barajas. The itinerary in the screenshot is an example.

Reason it wasn’t on the site: While the flight time is notably longer than on BA’s other first class offers, the price is disproportionately higher, too. In the end, it was just too expensive to confidently call it a deal.
€1,500 EVA Air Premium Economy to Southeast Asia
Star Alliance carrier EVA Air has lowered prices for some premium economy routes. Flights from Paris to many Southeast Asian destinations are available for €1,500 r/t, tickets for their non-stops between Amsterdam and Bangkok are available for €1,435.

Reason it wasn’t on the site: EVA Air’s brand value does the heavy lifting for this deal. While they are the cheapest non-stop option from Amsterdam, you can easily save €300 by choosing a different carrier with a change of planes. The same goes for the flights from Paris, and those don’t even come with the non-stop benefit. While it is likely that this deal has some fans, we are not entirely convinced that makes it recommendable.
66m² Room in Bangkok for €254/Night Incl. Breakfast
ASMALLWORLD currently offers discounted rooms at the Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok. A 66m² Grand Deluxe room is available for €254/night, including daily breakfast, onsite credit, early check-in and late check-out. You can save at least 30% compared to the hotel website, but have to stay at least three nights to get the price.

Reason it wasn’t on the site: We have seen much better hotel deals for Bangkok in the past. While the Sindhorn Kempinski offers the biggest rooms, it’s also among the most expensive, with a rather inconvenient location compared to the others. The minimum stay of three nights does not help. Spending more than €750 for three nights on a hotel in a city like Bangkok, where lodging and food is famously inexpensive, doesn’t strike us as an outstanding offer. Though, it’s certainly a good option if you are exclusively looking for upper-scale luxury travel.

Deals that didn’t make it the site and can be found on the site 🤣
Yeah, but as 2 short paragraphs instead of as a detailed and extensive post.
