Business Class to Punta Cana for €1,084 pp from Copenhagen & Oslo with Edelweiss & Discover Airlines (min. 2 Passengers)

Edelweiss Business Class

After our extensive report yesterday on the Lufthansa partner sale from Scandinavia, we continue to find more bargains. While North America is largely excluded from the offer, there is one exception: the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean.

From Copenhagen, you can fly with holiday carriers Discover Airlines and Edelweiss to Punta Cana and back for as little as DKK 8,085 (~€1,083) per person. This price can be found from January to June 2025, with the highest availability in May and June. Departures from Oslo are also possible, but around €70 more expensive per person. Either way, the condition is that you must book for at least 2 adults. Solo travellers cannot take advantage of this deal.

To book directly on Lufthansa’s website, feel free to use the form below. We have also marked the cheapest dates for a stay of up to 28 days in Punta Cana in green:

The flights include a short layover in either Zurich or Frankfurt. During the layover, you can of course visit the lounge. The long-haul flight from Zurich will be on an Airbus A340 operated by Edelweiss, while from Frankfurt, Discover Airlines (formerly Eurowings Discover) will operate with an Airbus A330.

Edelweiss offers a staggered seating arrangement in business class of 1-2-1 or 2-2-1. Discover Airlines has two different seating configurations. Two jets, previously operated by Edelweiss, have retained their cabin layout. The other A330s feature the same seats as Lufthansa, with a 2-2-2 configuration.

Visa Info

Travelers from almost all European countries can stay in the Dominican Republic for up to 30 days without a visa.

If the Caribbean doesn’t appeal to you, there are still business flights to China, Thailand, Hong Kong, and more for less than €1,000 per person. Just take a look at the following offer:

Search & Book

According to the fare rules, the flights can be booked until August 22, 2024 for departures from August 2024 to June 30, 2025. The minimum stay is 8 days, and according to the rules, you can spend a maximum of 3 months at the destination.

You can find the cheapest dates either through our calendar above or with the help of Google Flights (you need to keep the maximum trip duration filter activated for the calendar to display the correct prices). The deal can then be booked directly with Lufthansa or Swiss.

Miles & Points

The tickets are issued in booking class P. Unfortunately, neither Edelweiss nor Discover Airlines are members of the Star Alliance, so miles can only be credited to a few programs.

This is for flights with Edelweiss:

Mileage calculation is currently unavailable.

For flights with Discover Airlines, the situation is very similar (except for the short Lufthansa flights to Frankfurt, which most programs will not credit, unlike the SWISS flights to Zurich):

  • 9,758 Miles on Air Canada Aeroplan

Information & Tips for Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is known for its beautiful beaches, resorts in Punta Cana, the historic Zona Colonial in Santo Domingo, and natural wonders like Pico Duarte and the Samaná Peninsula. The currency is the Dominican peso (DOP), although U.S. dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas. The price level can vary—resorts and upscale areas tend to be expensive, while local markets and smaller towns offer more affordable options. The weather is tropical, with warm temperatures year-round, but the best time to visit is during the dry season, from December to April.

In the Dominican Republic, getting around within cities can be challenging due to limited public transportation options. Taxis, ride-hailing services, and motoconchos (motorcycle taxis) are common but can be expensive, especially in tourist areas. Public buses and the “guagua” minivans are available, though they may be crowded and less reliable. Between cities, buses are a common mode of transport, but travel times can be long. Renting a car is often the most convenient way to explore the country, though road conditions can vary.
