SAS Eurobonus: 30% Discount on Award Flights Scandinavia ↔ USA in November (Business for 35,000 points + €5 o/w)

SAS Business Class LAX CPH Kabine 2

SAS EuroBonus is one of the most attractive frequent flyer programs when it comes to award flights across the Atlantic. Availability is somewhat limited, but you can get business-class tickets for only 50,000 points per direction. Unlike at Miles&More, Flying Blue, and others, there are no fuel surcharges, only actual taxes & fees.

Now, SAS has launched a special promotion, making it even cheaper. For flights in November 2024, there is a 30% discount on award tickets between Scandinavia and the USA. This means you can book business class tickets for just 35,000 points plus €6 taxes per direction.

Info

The discount is only shown when you’re logged into your EuroBonus account. If the offer page is not displayed, you may need to set the language to English and refresh the link.

After applying the discount, the tickets cost per direction:

  • Economy class for 21,000 30,000 points + taxes
  • Premium economy for 28,000 40,000 points + taxes
  • Business class for 35,000 50,000 points + taxes

For a round trip in business class, expect to use 70,000 points plus about €50 to €100 in additional fees. However, the availability is limited. On the return leg (USA → Europe), you may often have to settle for premium economy.

Conditions

  • Booking period: Until September 22, 2024
  • Travel period: November 1 to 30, 2024
  • The discount is only shown after logging into your EuroBonus account
  • This applies to one-way tickets as well as round trips
  • Valid only for flights between Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) and the USA
  • Rebookings are allowed but cost a €75 fee plus the difference in points
(i.e., the discount then no longer applies)
  • Cancellations incur a €75 fee
  • Children up to 11 years old receive a 50% discount on the points price
  • Applies only to regular award flights with fixed mileage values – not to “odd” priced tickets (which are not attractive anyway)

Hint: Finding availability with AwardHacks.se

As mentioned earlier, availability in business class is often limited. The SAS website has a price calendar, but it only shows availability for economy tickets.

An alternative is the tool AwardHacks.se. There, you can view all routes and dates with business class availability. You can even set up email notifications for when new seats become available:

Here’s an example of what it looks like:

Note that even this tool isn’t always 100% accurate, e.g. no tickets from the USA are currently displayed, even though we found at least one example from Chicago above.
