Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Info

On AIDA cruises, gratuities for the crew are already included in the cruise price. You can, of course, give an extra tip for particularly good service if you wish.

Route

The journey begins conveniently in the Hanseatic city of Hamburg, allowing for easy travel to the port. After navigating the Elbe River and reaching the North Sea, the ship first heads to Southampton on the southern coast of England, the most important cruise port in the UK. From there, it continues to Gijón and La Coruña in northern Spain. In Portugal, stops are planned in Leixões (near Porto) and the capital, Lisbon, before the AIDAprima leaves the European mainland and sets course for Madeira.

Before heading towards Africa, you will visit three Canary Islands: Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and Gran Canaria. The islands boast a pleasant climate even in autumn, making them ideal for shore excursions. In Gran Canaria, a walk through the historic old town of Las Palmas is highly recommended, where you can find landmarks such as the Cathedral of Santa Ana. Alternatively, you can opt for a relaxing day at the beach, for instance, at Playa de las Canteras.

On its way south, the AIDAprima then makes a stop in Cape Verde, where you can explore the island of Sao Tiago and its capital, Praia. This is followed by seven days at sea, during which you will cross the equator. The ship will then reach Walvis Bay in Namibia for an overnight stay. The next major stop is Cape Town. This popular tourist metropolis offers numerous highlights, and to ensure you have enough time to see Table Mountain and other attractions, the AIDAprima will also stay here overnight.

After a stop in Port Elizabeth, the journey continues to two exotic dream destinations in the Indian Ocean: La Réunion and Mauritius. Both islands are scenically beautiful and offer several stunning beaches. Six sea days will then take you to Muscat, the capital of Oman. Sights there include the Sultan’s Palace and the old town district of Muttrah with its waterfront promenade. The cruise concludes on the afternoon of day 46 in Dubai, with disembarkation scheduled for the following day.

The main pool area consists of two connected pools (one indoor, one outdoor), supplemented by pools at the end of the water slides, two small infinity pools, and a Lazy River for relaxed floating. A wide range of cultural and recreational activities are available, including a spa, casino, climbing garden, a LEGO world, and a cinema. The wellness area, which requires an additional fee, spans an impressive 3,100 square meters.

The AIDAprima features a total of 12 restaurants, including Asian and Italian options. While meals and some beverages are included in the buffet restaurants, the specialty restaurants offer complimentary food but charge for drinks. Other dining venues are available for a full surcharge.

The onboard language is German, and the currency is the Euro.

Information & Tips for Auckland

Auckland offers a variety of attractions for travelers. Key sights include the iconic Sky Tower, offering panoramic views, the Auckland War Memorial Museum for a deep dive into New Zealand’s history and culture, and Waiheke Island, known for its vineyards and beaches, easily accessible by ferry. The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) is the official currency.

Generally, Auckland can be considered a moderately priced destination, with daily costs varying based on travel style. Accommodation, dining out, and transport can be similar to or slightly higher than some European cities, especially in central areas.

Auckland experiences a subtropical climate, characterized by warm, humid summers (December-February) and mild winters (June-August). Rainfall is fairly consistent year-round, so be prepared for occasional showers.

Information & Tips for Bali

Bali is known for its stunning beaches, vibrant rice terraces in Ubud, and cultural landmarks like Uluwatu Temple and Tanah Lot. The local currency is the Indonesian rupiah (IDR), and while credit cards are accepted in many places, cash is still commonly used, especially in smaller towns and markets. The cost of living is generally low, with affordable food, accommodation, and activities, though luxury options are also available. Bali has a tropical climate with a wet season from November to April and a dry season from May to October, making the latter ideal for outdoor activities.

Bali’s transport infrastructure is fairly basic, and getting around can be challenging, especially during peak hours. Within cities like Denpasar or tourist areas like Kuta and Ubud, traffic congestion is common, and public transportation is limited. Most locals and visitors rely on scooters or ride-hailing apps, which are convenient but can be overwhelming for first-time visitors. Traveling between towns is possible by car or shuttle buses, but the roads are often narrow and winding, making journeys slower than expected.

The Accor hotel chain is actually best known for its hotels in the lower-price segment, such as the Ibis hotels. Nevertheless, Accor has been expanding its 5-star portfolio in recent years, with brands such as Raffles and Fairmont. However, they have already been running the Sofitel hotels for a long time, which they took over in 1975. From their over 75 Sofitels, we have found the 30 cheapest.

However, we omitted the Sofitels in China as they would have inflated this list unnecessarily without really being interesting. Instead, we listed the 5 cheapest Sofitels of China separately. Also, we do not claim that these hotels consistently charge the listed price on every date. Furthermore, there may be another hotel that we missed, as it may have been more expensive on each of the dates checked. Last but not least, be aware that the lowest price is usually found in the off-season. That may be fine for a hotel in Europe, but it can also mean having to endure terrible heat, e.g. in the Middle East.

Enough with the explanations. Here is the list:

  1. Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16, Macau, starting at €97

Hong Kong: €926 Air France Premium Economy from Sofia (w/o Luggage) https://travel-dealz.com/deal/air-france-premium-hong-kong/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=rss-feed https://travel-dealz.com/deal/air-france-premium-hong-kong/#respond Wed, 31 Dec 2025 15:29:06 +0000 https://travel-dealz.com/?post_type=deal&p=106453

Air France is currently selling premium economy tickets to Hong Kong at a cheaper price than usual if you depart from Sofia. For these flights, Air France uses its A350, with the newer premium economy seats. There’s good availability until June. The Light fare only includes 2 carry-ons and a personal item. The fare that includes 2 pieces of checked luggage costs €160 more.

Our calendar displays all the cheapest dates. It can redirect you to KLM’s website. KLM’s website is exactly the same as Air France’s (they are basically the same airline), only that we get a commission from KLM while we don’t get one from Air France.

Air France does not seem to fly to Sofia. Therefore, your trip from Sofia to Air France’s hub in Paris involves two flights, either via Belgrade with Air Serbia or via Bucharest with TAROM. On the way back, you can fly directly from Paris to Sofia with Bulgaria Air.

The long-haul flight is operated with an Air France A350. This is good news, as the A350s have the newer and better premium economy seats.

Air France has two different types of premium economy seats. The seats in their Boeing planes do not recline in the conventional sense but instead slide forward. This can be a bonus, especially on a day-flight since you’re not disturbed by the person sitting in front of you. Tall passengers, however, have difficulties sleeping, as “reclining” leads to very limited leg room. The seats in Airbus A350 planes are better and are closer to the competition. Air France’s premium economy, however, has a major downside that has nothing to do with the seats: The cheapest fare includes 0 checked luggage to most destinations! Furthermore, the service and catering are often disappointing.

Your first flight always takes you from Oslo to London in British Airways Business Class. Then, the good stuff begins. You will board an American Airlines Boeing 777 to either New York or Miami. After a short wait, you will continue your way to Argentina. All segments in question are operated with American Airlines’ Flagship First cabin.

American Airlines First Class

At American Airlines, there is only a real first class named Flagship First in the Boeing 777-300. The alignment is like in business class (1-2-1) and otherwise, the seat is (unfortunately) more reminiscent of a good business class, but at least it is a lot more spacious. The swivel function of the seat is quite unique so that you can look straight ahead through the window during the flight.

Especially the soft product still has a lot of room for improvement. Here are a few relevant reviews:

Visa Info

Most European passport holders can stay in Argentina visa-free for up to 90 days.

This deal requires immigrating to the United States twice. Most Europeans need an electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) to enter the USA for up to 90 days. This costs US$40 (~€34) and you should apply for it a couple of days before your trip, at the latest.

There are some cases where you cannot apply for an ESTA, e.g. if you’ve been to Cuba since 2021 or to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, or North Korea since March 2011. In those cases, you’ll need to get a visa from a US embassy or consulate, which can take multiple weeks.

The fare rules offers little restrictions for these tickets, only a minimum stay of 24 hours. Departures are available until May 2026, possible dates at the lowest price gets sparse further into the future. The fare does not allow stopover in America. Departures are available from January to March and from September to November.

You can find available flight dates easily with Google Flights. We recommend booking these flights directly on American Airlines’ website. You can do that by using either Google’s re-direct or entering flight dates on their website. This might take some time, as you American does not preview First Class pricing. You need to choose premium fares first, then see if the cheap first class tickets are available.

According to the fare rules, tickets at this price are on sale without an expiration date. You need to spend at least one night from Saturday to Sunday in New York to get the lowest fare. Departures from Paris are available in January through March and July through November, while from Milan you can travel from January through November.

You can find dates and prices on Google Flights (instructions) and by using our availability calendar above. We recommend paying €30 more at the airline, instead of booking through online travel agencies at the lowest price.

Miles & Points

As La Compagnie doesn’t belong to any alliance, you can only earn miles at its own frequent flyer program, where you’ll get 1 point in each direction.

You need 40 points to get either a one-way ticket in peak season or a return ticket in shoulder season. 5 points will earn you a free, oversized bag, You can find more information about their frequent flyer here.

Information & Tips for Indonesia

Indonesia offers diverse attractions, from the temples of Bali and Yogyakarta to the beaches of Lombok and the cultural hub of Jakarta. The local currency is the Indonesian rupiah (IDR), and cash is widely used, although credit cards are accepted in larger establishments. Prices are generally affordable, though tourist hotspots like Bali can be more expensive. The weather is tropical, with a rainy season from November to March and dry, sunny conditions from April to October, making the latter a popular time to visit.

Indonesia’s transport infrastructure varies by region. In major cities like Jakarta and Bali, traffic can be heavy, and public transport options are limited, although ride-hailing apps like Gojek and Grab are widely used. Within cities, buses, taxis, and motorcycles are common, but they can be slow due to congestion. For intercity travel, domestic flights are the most efficient way to cover long distances, while trains and buses are available but slower and less comfortable. Travel can be more challenging in rural areas, where transportation options may be limited.

Information & Tips for Thailand

Thailand is famous for its vibrant cities, beautiful beaches, and rich cultural heritage. Key sights include the Grand Palace and Wat Pho in Bangkok, the ancient city of Ayutthaya, and the islands of Phuket and Koh Samui. The currency is the Thai baht (THB), and while credit cards are commonly accepted in tourist areas, cash is often preferred in local markets. The cost of living is generally low, with budget accommodations and street food available, but prices can rise in more touristy areas. The weather is tropical, with a hot, rainy season from May to October and a cooler, dry season from November to February.

Getting around Thailand is fairly easy, with a mix of modern and traditional options. In cities like Bangkok, public transport includes the Skytrain (BTS), metro (MRT), and river ferries, which are convenient but can get crowded. Taxis and motorbike taxis are also widely available. For intercity travel, buses and trains are common and affordable, though train journeys can be slow. Domestic flights are frequent and often the fastest way to travel longer distances, especially to popular islands or northern regions. However, traffic congestion in urban areas can be a challenge, particularly during rush hours.

Information & Tips for Philippines

The Philippines is an archipelago of over 7,000 islands, known for its beaches, diving spots, and volcanic landscapes. Key destinations include Palawan for its limestone cliffs and lagoons, Cebu for diving and whale sharks, and the rice terraces of Banaue. The local currency is the Philippine Peso (PHP). Costs are relatively low, especially outside major cities, with budget-friendly options for food, transport, and lodging. Intercity travel often requires flights due to the country’s island geography, though ferries and long-distance buses are also options. The cruise price includes full board in the main and buffet restaurants, as well as coffee, water, tea, and iced tea during the buffet’s opening hours. Most onboard facilities and activities (e.g., use of sun loungers and pools on the outer deck, shows in the theatre, gym, etc.) are also included in the package.

Important

Carnival Cruises adds an automatic crew gratuity of US$16 (~€14) (per person, per day) to your onboard account. This amount can be adjusted at the reception desk if desired.

If you live in Europe, we recommend booking through Travel-Dealz, and if you live in the USA, book via CruiseDirect, as long as the price difference is not significant. If the difference is considerable, you can choose the cheaper option, but keep in mind that the consumer guarantees are different for Americans and Europeans.

The Route

The cruise starts in Long Beach on the US West Coast. The port is located just south of Los Angeles, making it easily accessible via LAX or Long Beach Airport.

The ship heads south towards Mexico, with a relaxing day at sea to enjoy the Italian-themed amenities. The highlight of the trip is a double visit to Cabo San Lucas. Here, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Gulf of California, you will enjoy two consecutive days (with a brief departure overnight) to explore the famous “El Arco” rock formation or enjoy the beaches.

After another day at sea, the journey continues to the port city of Ensenada. Founded by Spanish missionaries in the 17th century, it is now particularly known for its diverse shopping opportunities and local wineries.

Finally, the Carnival Firenze returns to Long Beach in the early morning. It’s a great idea to spend a few extra days in Los Angeles after the cruise to discover famous sights like Universal Studios or the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Visa Info

Most Europeans need an electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) to enter the USA for up to 90 days. This costs US$40 (~€34) and you should apply for it a couple of days before your trip, at the latest.

There are some cases where you cannot apply for an ESTA, e.g. if you’ve been to Cuba since 2021 or to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, or North Korea since March 2011. In those cases, you’ll need to get a visa from a US embassy or consulate, which can take multiple weeks.

The Ship

The Carnival Firenze joined the fleet in 2024, bringing “Carnival Fun Italian Style” to the US West Coast. Originally launched as the Costa Firenze in 2020, the ship was transferred from Costa Cruises and completely refurbished. It accommodates over 4,000 passengers and offers an immersive Italian-themed experience, with public spaces and venues inspired by the city of Florence.

Onboard, you’ll find a mix of Carnival fan-favourites and new, Italy-inspired options. Dining choices include the Palazzo and Medici main dining rooms, the Lido Marketplace buffet, and speciality restaurants like the Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, as well as more casual spots like Guy’s Burger Joint and the Pizzeria del Capitano. Entertainment is plentiful, featuring Playlist Productions shows in the Teatro Rosso, live music at the various bars and lounges, a casino, and the WaterWorks aqua park.

Below are some impressions of the ship as well as the cabins:

One-Way Tickets from the US to Europe for €170 with Oneworld & SkyTeam, Even From e.g. Hawaii & Alaska (w/o Luggage) https://travel-dealz.com/deal/one-ways-usa-europe/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=rss-feed https://travel-dealz.com/deal/one-ways-usa-europe/#respond Mon, 29 Dec 2025 17:10:11 +0000 https://travel-dealz.com/?post_type=deal&p=106125

One-way flights from the USA to Europe are currently particularly cheap to book with Oneworld (American or British Airways) and SkyTeam (Delta, Air France, KLM). This might be useful as part of a round-the-world trip, or if you booked a business class outbound flight using miles and still need a way to get back to Europe.

In any case, tickets are available from numerous US cities for prices between €170 and €210. These include four airports in Hawaii, several West Coast destinations, and even numerous regional airports throughout the country.

However, checked luggage costs extra. You can either book the standard fare (which includes other benefits) for an additional €85, or pay €64 at check-in. Status holders receive at least one free checked bag with all airlines except BA, even when booking the Light fare.

The prices from Hawaii are particularly interesting, as the distance covers half the globe:

But there are also cheap tickets available from many other US cities (including numerous regional airports):

The best prices are available for travel in April, May, and November 2026. You can also travel from August to October 2026, but it will cost around €20 more. Feel free to use the search tool below to book via Google Flights or directly with American Airlines:

Search & Book

The best prices are found from April to May as well as November to mid-December 2026. Availability from late July to October costs approx. €20 more. However, this may vary slightly depending on the route.

The fare rules do not state how long these prices will last. However, two weeks ago prices were significantly higher, as shown by the price history on Google Flights (Honolulu – Oslo):

Google Flights (guide) is also suitable for finding dates. We recommend booking directly with the airline, e.g. American, British Airways, Delta, or KLM.

Miles & Points

The booking class for the cheapest fare is:

  • E with Delta
  • V with KLM & Air France
  • B with American Airlines
  • O with British Airways, Iberia, etc.

  • 790 Avios + 158 Elite Points on Iberia Plus 2025

Perth, Australia: €2,786 Star Alliance Business Class from Budapest https://travel-dealz.com/deal/star-alliance-business-europe-australia/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=rss-feed https://travel-dealz.com/deal/star-alliance-business-europe-australia/#comments Mon, 29 Dec 2025 16:42:20 +0000 https://travel-dealz.com/?post_type=deal&p=106081

Star Alliance members SWISS, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and Singapore Airlines are offering a deal from Budapest to Perth, Australia, starting at just €2,786 (~HUF 1,071,097). This offer includes 2×32 kg of checked luggage, plus all the business class perks. Departures are scattered in February, March, May and June.

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Lufthansa or Skyscanner with your selected flight dates. From there, you can check what OTAs have to offer, as they sell these tickets up to €200 cheaper:

First, you will fly to one of the Lufthansa Group hubs to connect to your intercontinental flight to Asia. With SWISS, you will fly from Zurich on the Boeing 777 to Singapore; with Austrian, from Vienna on the Boeing 777 to Bangkok; or with Lufthansa, from Frankfurt on the Boeing 747 to Singapore, all of which feature lie-flat seats. Then you will continue to Perth from Singapore with the Airbus A350 or from Bangkok with Thai Airways on the Boeing 787, both of which have a 1-2-1 lie-flat configuration.

Visa Info

Most Europeans need a visa to enter Australia. You can apply for the visa online. It’s best to apply at least 1 month before travelling. The visa is free.

Search & Book

This deal does not have an expiration date, but a maximum stay of twelve months apply. Departures are scattered in February, March, May and June.

With some dates, you will need to book a multicity ticket in order to purchase on the Lufthansa website. Here is an example and a search form so you can book it directly with the airline.

multicity BUD PER C

You can find suitable dates using our calendar above or with the help of Google Flights. We recommend booking directly on Lufthansa’s website, but you can find cheaper prices with Skyscanner. However, booking on OTAs has its downsides.

Miles & Points

This ticket is issued in booking class P. Here are the miles and points you can earn from this deal, flying via Zurich and Singapore:

  • 31,998 Miles on Air China PhoenixMiles
  • 23,336 Miles on Singapore KrisFlyer
  • 20,484 Miles on Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles

Currently, tickets in the couchette car are being offered at particularly low prices. A trip from Prague or Berlin to Brussels, Amsterdam, or Rotterdam, or vice versa, is available for €25 each way. These cheap tickets are available for travel between January 5 and February 12, 2026, booked by January 4, 2026.

The fares include the train ticket, compartment reservation for up to five people, bed linen, and luggage. Mineral water is also included. Additional drinks and snacks can be purchased for a fee.

Alternatively, you have the option of booking your own compartment for €100. The price is the same regardless of whether the compartment is used by one or five people. To book this option, select the Classic Private menu item on the landing page. The total price for the compartment will then be displayed.

Info

Cancellation or refund is unfortunately not possible for these cheap tickets.

You can find all the cheap dates for this Flash Sale via the following links:

  • Prague → Decin → Bad Schandau → Dresden → Berlin → Deventer → Amersfoort → Amsterdam → Den Haag → Rotterdam → Roosendaal → Antwerpen → Brussels for €40 (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays)

Route

The Brussels – Amsterdam – Berlin – Prague route is served three times a week. The train stops in Antwerp, Rotterdam, and The Hague, among other places. In Germany, it only stops in Berlin Hbf, Berlin Ostbahnhof, Dresden Hbf, and Bad Schandau before continuing to Decin and Prague. The journey from Berlin to Brussels takes approximately 10 hours.

You can view the exact timetable for your day here on EuropeanSleeper.eu.

Comfort & Travel Classes

European Sleeper offers a total of three travel classes:

In the seated car, there are a total of 6 seats. Unfortunately, the seats cannot be pushed together to form a flat surface, as it is possible in older ÖBB Nightjet compartments.

In the couchette car, depending on the chosen category, there are either 6 or (for an additional charge) 5 berths, whereby everything can be folded up during the day to create seating areas. Women’s compartments are also available. European Sleeper provides bedding, but you have to make the beds yourself.

In the sleeping car, there is space for a maximum of 3 people. By default, there is only a sink. A welcome drink and breakfast set this travel class apart from the couchette car. The beds are already made, and you benefit from a wake-up service. Women’s compartments are also available here.

Search & Book

The offer is only bookable via the landing pages linked above. The regular search returns higher prices.

During the booking process, you will automatically be assigned a seat in a compartment. It appears that changes are not possible:

The tickets are therefore booked in the Easy Night fare, which is not refundable.

The Abu Dhabi EDITION: 3-for-2, Starting at €190/Night in Summer, incl. $100 Hotel Credit & Breakfast https://travel-dealz.com/deal/asw-edition-abu-dhabi/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=rss-feed https://travel-dealz.com/deal/asw-edition-abu-dhabi/#comments Mon, 29 Dec 2025 09:53:00 +0000 https://travel-dealz.com/?post_type=deal&p=54809#59089

Indulge in luxury at The Abu Dhabi EDITION and enjoy a lot of perks by booking the hotel through Classictravel. From a room upgrade, daily complimentary breakfast for two, a US$100 (~€85) hotel credit, late check-out, a welcome amenity, and early check-in, you’ll get a lot of benefits for a price starting at only €190 per night, thanks to a current 3-for-2 promotion.

This is a 3-for-2 deal, meaning that you’ll only get this price if you stay 3 nights. We’ve marked the cheapest dates on our calendar below. Sadly, as soon as the summer ends, the prices steeply shoot upwards. You’ll still get the 3-night discount and the benefits, but you’ll pay far more than €190 per night.

You can get this rate on Classictravel. It’s also available on ASMALLWORLD, however, they require a paid membership for that. Classictravel is completely free.

The rooms are large, measuring 49 m2. Most likely, the upgrade won’t be anything very special. Maybe a higher floor or something along those lines.

Abu Dhabi Edition Room
©Marriott International, Inc.

By the way, this rate is an eligible rate to earn Marriott Bonvoy points and status nights!

The Hotel

The Abu Dhabi EDITION hotel, located in the downtown district on the waterfront of Al Bateen Marina, offers a range of luxurious amenities. The property features 198 unique rooms and suites. Guests can enjoy dining at three restaurants: Oak Room, Alba Terrace, and Market at EDITION – along with a lobby bar and a pool bar. To give you an example, the US$100 (~€85) credit buys you two Spatchcock Charred Chickens in the Oak Room restaurant, along with two non-alcoholic cocktails. The hotel provides two outdoor pools, a spa, and two fitness centres.

Previous guests have left very good reviews (e.g. 9.3/10 on Booking.com or 4.6/5 on Google), with the hotel’s good location getting the most praise. While it seems a little remote on the map, there are lots of restaurants and a supermarket within 500 meters walking distance. And as one of our readers has commented, you’ll also find “two of Abu Dhabi’s best speciality coffee shops” less than a 3-minute walk away.

By loading the map, you agree to Google’s privacy policy. Load Map Save selection & always load Google Maps

An Uber from Abu Dhabi airport to the hotel will cost around AED 140 (~€32) and take approximately 35 minutes.

Price Check

On the exact same dates at which Classictravel is charging €190 for a rate with breakfast and hotel credit, Marriott’s website wants €314/night for that same room, without the hotel credit. Even if you were to not use the hotel credit, you’d still be saving around 40% by booking through Classictravel! Also, booking through Classictravel literally has no disadvantages.

Etihad Airways Seychelles Sale

Etihad Airways currently sells discounted roundtrips from many European airports to the Seychelles. While the gulf carrier’s cheapest economy fare no longer includes checked bags, the price-tag for hold luggage is below €40.

Why it stands out: It has been a while since we saw a decent offer to the Seychelles in economy class. Not only is this a fairly good price for an exotic destination, but it is broadly available from many European airports and also comes with a long travel period, with cheap tickets available until October 2026.

€1,700 ITA Airways Business Class to Brazil from Spain

With departure from Madrid and Barcelona, you can reach São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro for less than €2,000 in ITA’s business class.

Why it stands out: While ITA Airways issues promo codes regularly, these are almost always limited to departures from Italy. This fare allows people to travel from Spain, for prices that are usually only available with aforementioned discount codes. While the routing via Rome is a detour, that’s not necessarily a downside when booking premium tickets.

€3,200 British Airways First Class to San Francisco

In addition to the first class sales from Stockholm and Lisbon, British Airways also offers discounted first class tickets from Dublin. From Ireland, even flights to the American West Coast are discounted, with roundtrips to San Francisco available for less than €3,300.

Why it stands out: If you break it down to money per hour spent in a first class cabin, the roundtrip tickets from Dublin to San Francisco and back are some of the best value first class currently available with Oneworld carriers.

All these routes use a 2-4-2 seating pattern in premium economy, compared to the 3-4-3 in economy class.

Visa Info

Most European citizens can enter Thailand visa-free for 60 days when travelling for touristic purposes.

Search & Book

The fare rules don’t give away a sales or travel period for this deal. You have to stay less than twelve months in Thailand to get the lowest fare. Departures are available between January and October 2026. Discounted tickets are not available during the Summer Holidays.

Google Flights helps you find additional flight dates or compare prices. Booking through Lufthansa’s website makes most sense, as that’s also the cheapest place to buy them.

Information & Tips for Bangkok

Bangkok is known for its vibrant street life, cultural landmarks, and bustling markets. Key sights include the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and the lively Khao San Road. The local currency is the Thai baht (THB), and while credit cards are widely accepted in hotels and large stores, cash is preferred for smaller vendors. The city is relatively affordable, with street food and public transport offering great value. Bangkok has a tropical climate, with hot and humid weather year-round, a rainy season from May to October, and cooler, more comfortable temperatures from November to February.

The Verandah King Room measures 50m2 and features a bathtub in addition to the private balcony or terrace. As this is an adult-only hotel, there are no accommodations for child beds. Upon check-in, you’ll receive a bottle of sparkling wine, a gin cocktail with cranberry juice and Earl Grey Tea, a Reef House history book and a Sleep Easy support guide.

You’ll be able to enjoy your complimentary breakfast between 06:30 and 10:00. Each day, you get a A$100 (~€57) dining voucher, which buys a 2-course dinner for one in the Reef House Restaurant. Most lunch offers (for example, the Singapore Noodles) set you back A$34 (~€19) per dish.

You can also get a free tropical sorbet every day at 15:00 and free-flow alcoholic punch and canapes between 17:00 and 18:00. To top it all off, you can enjoy free wine-tasting or cocktail-making activities and burn off the extra calories with free yoga or aqua aerobics courses. There is also a A$100 (~€57) spa credit, but you have to spend A$250 (~€142) to get it.

LuxuryEscapes Cancellation Policy

LuxuryEscapes offers a rather complicated cancellation policy. It basically comes in three steps:

  • Until 7 days after booking: You get a full refund in your original payment form. This is the last chance to get your money back.
  • over 46 days before your stay: You can get a full refund in form of a LuxuryEscapes credit. You won’t get your money back, but can use it to book a different hotel on LuxuryEscapes.
  • Less than 45 days before you stay: You won’t get a refund in any form if you cancel or no-show.

Previous guests gave good ratings: the property sports a 4.4 rating on Google and a 4.7 rating on TripAdvisor. The hotel gets primarily positive reviews in every category. However, the rooms only get a 4.4 on TripAdvisor, and 19% of those mentioning “room(s)” on Google had a negative review. You should check the pictures of the rooms and decide whether it’s up to your expectations.

Warning

The hotel’s website says that there will be renovations between January 14 and February 5, 2026. During this time, the hotel may close the Wine Room and the Brigadiers Lounge.

Price Check

While many of the benefits listed above are also part of the property’s Signature Inclusions, LuxuryEscapes still beats the best offers by a landslide. The hotel’s similar offer (Rest & Refresh Rejuvenation Package including one dinner instead of daily credit) costs A$837 (~€476) per night for 3-night itineraries in the same room category. Without the credits, Trip.com offers the Verandah King Room at €550 (~A$967) per night.

When you compare the two offers, LuxuryEscapes comes out victorious by ~34%. Plus, you get A$100 (~€57) dining credit instead of a 3-course dinner (worth A$129 (~€73) per person).
