Depending on the carrier you choose, your trip will include a layover either in Germany or in Switzerland. From there, Lufthansa or Swiss will fly you to Johannesburg. The airlines will mostly operate an Airbus A340 or a Boeing 747.

Both carriers offer a solid first class product. Since you should be able to find equally priced flights for Lufthansa and Swiss, we recommend having a look at the following two chapters to see who you’d like to give preference to:

Lufthansa First Class

Lufthansa has its own terminal for First Class passengers! This and the food in Lufthansa’s First Class are widely considered to be among the best. The First Class terminal has its own airport security control, free food, hotel-like rooms with bed and bathtub, and so on. You get driven to the plane in a limousine.

The seat can be turned into a 210 cm long bed (roughly 80 cm wide) and has all the usual comforts, such as power sockets, inflight entertainment, WIFI, and so on.

SWISS First Class

In SWISS’ first class, you’ll be served excellent food in a comfortable seat that can be turned into a flat bed. Usually, the 8 first class seats are in a 1-2-1 formation, meaning that every seat has direct access to the aisle. You’ll be allowed to check in 3 pieces of luggage and bring 2 carry-ons. All itineraries feature two stops: One in Istanbul and one in Asia, mostly Kuala Lumpur. All flights from/to Istanbul will be operated by Turkish Airlines. An Airbus A320 family aircraft hosts you from Dublin to Istanbul, with the usual 3-3 seating pattern in economy. Even on those flights, you can enjoy personal entertainment screens. The Routes

The Ships

The Celestyal Discovery and Celestyal Journey are sister ships operated by Celestyal Cruises, a line known for its focus on Greek and Eastern Mediterranean itineraries. Both vessels are mid-sized, carrying around 1,200 to 1,300 passengers each. Small enough to access ports that larger ships often can’t, yet large enough to offer a comfortable range of facilities.

The Celestyal Discovery, entering service for the line in 2024, is the newer of the two. It features refreshed interiors with a clean, modern design and a focus on open spaces and natural light. The ship includes several dining venues, a pool deck, lounges, and entertainment areas, but its scale keeps things relatively intimate.

The Celestyal Journey, which joined the fleet in 2023 after an extensive refurbishment, is slightly larger and offers a comparable experience with a few additional options. Like the Discovery, it retains a smaller-ship feel, prioritising comfort and personal service over flashy amenities.

Both ships are aimed at travellers who care more about the destinations than constant onboard activity. Their itineraries tend to feature frequent port calls and longer stays, especially around the Greek islands, Turkey, and the Eastern Mediterranean. Together, they represent Celestyal’s move toward a more polished, contemporary product while maintaining the line’s relaxed, destination-focused style.

Good deals for business flights to Nepal are rare. However, Star Alliance members Air India is currently offering relatively inexpensive tickets with departure from Amsterdam. You can get the round-trip journey from €1,409 (when booking through third-party providers). Availability is good from November to March 2026. The round-trip journey is via Delhi, where a stopover is possible, even making the tickets a little cheaper.

The Route

Your journey begins on December 6 at 4 p.m. in Miami. Bottom Line

Our examples show that the 25-30% discount is absolutely realistic. While the destinations are somewhat random, there are plenty of attractive cities on the list. Turkish Airlines uses different planes for their flights from Istanbul to JFK and Newark (EWR) airport. To John F. Kennedy airport, the airline deploys Boeing 777-300ER planes with the old business class configuration – lie-flat-seats in a 2-3-2 pattern. While you can still enjoy their marvellous catering, ending up in the middle seat might not be what you wish for when paying for a business class ticket.

The journey takes you from Barcelona to Miami and includes stops in Spain, Gibraltar, Morocco, and Madeira. The current price of €34 per night is a true bargain for such a transatlantic route. Even better, flights back to Europe after the cruise currently come for a decent price, starting at just €350, including luggage.

The entire 15-night cruise in an inside cabin is available for just €506 per person. However, the oceanview cabins from €649 are significantly more appealing (prices per person based on double occupancy). Solo travellers can join the cruise in an inside for just €506, as there is no single supplement.

The cruise price includes full board in the main and buffet restaurants, as well as coffee, water, tea, and iced tea during the buffet’s opening hours. Most onboard facilities and activities (e.g., use of sun loungers and pools on the outer deck, shows in the theatre, gym, etc.) are also included in the package.

Route

The cruise begins in the vibrant Mediterranean metropolis of Barcelona, Spain. From here, the Norwegian Pearl sets sail towards the southern coast of Spain, promising a journey filled with cultural discoveries.

The Ship

The Norwegian Pearl was built in 2006 and last renovated in 2021. The ship is 294 meters long and 38 meters wide, with a maximum speed of 25 knots, although this speed is rarely needed in normal operation. The ship can accommodate a total of 2,394 passengers and 1,072 crew members. It was built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.

The bars and lounges on board ensure a lively atmosphere. A particular highlight is the Bliss Ultra Lounge, which also serves as a bowling center and nightclub. A show is performed every evening at the Stardust Theater. The ship has a fitness center and an outdoor sports court, so you can stay active whenever you wish. Passengers can find peace and relaxation in the spa area (for an additional fee).

The Norwegian Pearl offers a total of 16 different dining options. In addition to the main and buffet restaurants, there are also various specialty restaurants that require an additional fee, such as a steakhouse, Le Bistro with French delicacies, or the Brazilian-inspired Moderno. There is something for every taste.

The onboard language is English. The onboard currency is the US dollar, and the easiest way to settle your expenses at the end of the cruise is with a credit card.

Getting Back

The cruise starts in Barcelona and ends in Miami, so you will need to book a one-way ticket from Miami to Europe. For example, you can fly non-stop with Air Europa to Madrid for €350 with checked luggage.

For Chengdu, we limited the search to itineraries without an airport change or an overnight layover. Those could decrease the price further by €30-€50. Because of technical reason, our search will only show results to Chengdu Shuangliu (CTU) airport. The first segment of your flight will be in Shanghai Airlines’ premium economy, directly to Shanghai, Xi’An or Ningbo. They will be operated by Boeing 787 aircraft with a 2-3-2 seating in premium economy. Flying to Chengdu requires a change of planes. Domestic flights are operated by China Eastern Airbus A320 or Boeing 737 family aircraft. You will be seated in economy class on these flights.

The fare rules do not state how long this fare will remain valid. There is a minimum stay of six nights or a Saturday night and a maximum stay of 12 months. Departures are available between November to June 2026 for Shanghai and Chengdu. For Ningbo, you can find dates from November 2025 to May 2026. Travel to Xi’an is possible from November 2025 until March 2026.

Your first flight always takes you from Oslo to London in British Airways Business Class. Then, the good stuff begins. You will board an American Airlines Boeing 777 to either New York or Miami. After a short wait, you will continue your way to Argentina. All segments in question are operated with American Airlines’ Flagship First cabin.

American Airlines First Class

At American Airlines, there is only a real first class named Flagship First in the Boeing 777-300. The alignment is like in business class (1-2-1) and otherwise, the seat is (unfortunately) more reminiscent of a good business class, but at least it is a lot more spacious. The swivel function of the seat is quite unique so that you can look straight ahead through the window during the flight.

The fare rules offers little restrictions for these tickets, only a minimum stay of 24 hours. Departures are available until May 2026, possible dates at the lowest price gets sparse further into the future. The fare does not allow stopover in America.

You can find available flight dates easily with Google Flights. We recommend booking these flights directly on American Airlines’ website. You can do that by using either Google’s re-direct or entering flight dates on their website. This might take some time, as you American does not preview First Class pricing. You need to choose premium fares first, then see if the cheap first class tickets are available.

Why it’s awesome: Upon its debut, jetBlue’s Mint business class has been lauded as one of the best premium cabins crossing the Atlantic. This seems to be the case, as the American carrier has added route-after-route to their long-haul network. Yet, we haven’t seen discounted round-trips in a while, indicating solid demand. That makes this week’s offer from Amsterdam stand out.

Transatlantic Cruise with No Single Surcharge

On November 13, the Norwegian Epic will begin its transatlantic cruise from Lisbon to San Juan. There are still a few inside cabins available for €600 per person (more expensive than Tuesday, but still an awesome price) – without the need for double occupancy.

Why it’s awesome: The route is direct, yet quite interesting, with additional stops in the Azores and Virgin Islands. Even better, prices for one-way flights back to Europe are still decent after the cruise, before spiking in December. On top of that, cruises with no single supplement are well requested among our readers.

You will be staying in a Thai Studio. The room features a small and a bathroom with a walk-in rain shower. If you wish to enjoy the early morning on your balcony while sipping on a hot coffee, good news: There is also an espresso machine in your room.

The Hotel

The Anana Ecological Resort Krabi is a five-star rated resort, located a roughly 15 kilometers or a 20-minute drive outside Krabi’s city center, overlooking a mountain range. You can find small shops and restaurants just outside the hotel, but need to call a Grab or taxi is to get to town. Krabi airport (KBV) is a fourty-minute drive away. In addition to your studio and a beautiful swimming pool, the hotel also features three restaurants and several swimming pools and a pool bar.

Previous visitors have left overwhelmingly positive reviews of the hotel (e.g. 4.8/5 on Tripadvisor or 4.6/5 on Google). Many reviews praise the fantastic staff and beautiful views. Main points of criticism are the lack of luxurious amenities in the room (a valid concern for a five-star resort). The rather secluded location is often named as a huge upside, since the resort is away from the loud and hectic Krabi, while you have still easy access to a small village outside.

Price Check

As previously mentioned, LuxuryEscapes charges €101/night (or €303 in total) for a three-night stay – including half-broad – in September 2026. On the same dates, the hotel website charges an unbelievable amount of THB 86,400 (~€2,293) – though this is almost certainly an error, as every room category carries that absurdly high price tag.

Three nights in May 2026 are available for THB 28,350 (~€752) or THB 9,450 (~€251) per night. This is still vastly more expensive than LuxuryEscapes’ offer, that offers the same room with the same inclusions for almost half the price. The offer holds up throughout the entire travel period.

On the same dates, booking.com charges €453 for three nights, including breakfast. That is still €50 per night more than Luxury Escapes, but without the second hot meal, the 60-minute massage or the daily alcoholic beverage.

The business class offers from MIAT Mongolian Airlines have become significantly more interesting since the airline acquired Boeing 787 aircraft with lie-flat-seats up front. Currently, the airline sells discounted roundtrips from Frankfurt to Singapore for just €1,396 – with a short layover in Ulaanbaatar. Sadly, the seven-hour-flights from Mongolia to Singapore are operated by their remaining Boeing 767 aircraft, with recliner seats in business class.

As previously mentioned, flights between Frankfurt and Ulaanbaatar are operated with Boeing 787-8, featuring a state-of-the-art business class product: Lie-Flat-Seats in a 1-2-1 pattern. After evaluating them, only the best deals make it on our homepage and into our newsletter. In this post, we want to shine a light on offers that were discussed, but ultimately disregarded. But just because we didn’t feel they would be interesting for a broader audience, it doesn’t mean that some people won’t cherish them.

Emirates A380 from Milan to New York for €500 r/t

Emirates offers a fifth freedom flight from Milan to New York, operated by one of their many Airbus A380. Roundtrips are available for less than €500 during the winter, roughly €100 less than usual.

Reason it wasn’t on the site: Even when accounting for the free checked bags that Emirates offers, it isn’t even the cheapest offer on this route. Availability isn’t too good, either.

€1,000 SAS Premium Economy to Seoul

Scandinavian Airlines is running another premium economy sale. But instead of the usual awesome prices between Denmark, Sweden, Norway and the USA, the airline discounted prices to Seoul in this iteration. Possible departure airports include, but are not limited to, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Milan and Vienna.

Reason it wasn’t on the site: Roundtrips were initially available for €800, a price which would have been immediately posted as a deal. Sadly, those tickets sold out rather quickly – and/or SAS raised prices for the remaining flights by roughly €200. So it ended up among the deals, that didn’t make it.

€60 Off Air France Long-Haul Flights from Germany

You can currently €60 off Air France and KLM flights departing from Germany, as long as you are not going to China, Europe or Mauritius. The coupon code requires a minimum spending of €170, without taxes & surcharges.

Reason it wasn’t on the site: Flights from Germany are often more expensive than from neighbouring countries, you would likely end up paying more – even with the discount applied. The high minimum spend does not help, either.

Star Alliance members Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines currently sell discounted premium economy tickets from Europe to Bangkok. With a change of planes in either Munich, Vienna, or Zurich in each direction, you can fly to Thailand’s capital for as little as €971. Destination

Air Greenland will resume regular non-stop service from Canada to Greenland next summer. However, it will not be flying from Toronto or Montreal, but from Iqaluit (the capital of the territory of Nunavut) in the far north. As a result, the flight to Greenland’s capital, Nuuk, will only take about 2 hours, despite being operated with a Dash-8 turboprop.

For those interested in this exotic route, one-way tickets from Iqaluit to Nuuk are currently available from €190 (~CA$308). This includes one checked bag up to 20 kg. If you add a feeder from Ottawa on the same ticket, prices rise to €510. Tickets in the other direction, from Greenland to Iqaluit, are available from €259.

The flights are operated with Bombardier Dash-8-200 aircraft. These have 37 seats in the typical 2-2 seating arrangement. The distance between Iqaluit and Nuuk is only 822 kilometres.

Getting to Iqaluit

Although Iqaluit is connected with daily flights to Ottawa, getting to the Canadian north is usually anything but cheap. The airline Canadian North charges a hefty €600 for a one-way ticket on their Boeing 737-300 or 737-400 aircraft:

This would ruin any deal, of course. But luckily, there is a good way to book such tickets with frequent flyer miles. Through Air Canada Aeroplan, that same one-way ticket can be booked for 16,900 miles plus CA$90 (~€55) (up from 10,000 miles recently):

The most attractive is combining both flights on a single ticket, with prices starting at €511:

Since you cannot purchase such a ticket from the airlines, we recommend booking such a ticket with a trustworthy travel agency like trip.com.

From Greenland to Europe

A round trip on this route can make sense for North Americans, but for Europeans it is more attractive to fly directly from Greenland to Europe. Or for North Americans with enough time to combine this trip with an onward flight to Europe.

This is possible with Air Greenland or SAS with their non-stop flight from Copenhagen. Usually, these flights range between €300 to €600 one way, but on some dates in summer, you can find tickets for as little as €322.

Alternatively, you can book an award ticket with SAS EuroBonus starting from 15,000 points plus approximately €82 in taxes and fees. The alternative would be a €377 cash ticket (€404 incl. checked bags).
