Editor’s Opinion: If you’re heading to Florida, might as well add this small cruise to your itinerary. At 3-4 nights, it doesn’t take much of your time, and is cheaper than any hotel on the mainland. Plus you get to explore the Bahamas and relax with free food and entertainment.

The Route

These are 3- or 4-night cruises that depart from Miami, spend 2 days at the Bahamas (Nassau and Ocean Cay) and then return to Miami. The 4-night cruises also have a full day at sea.

The Ship

The MSC Seaside, introduced in 2017, is one of MSC’s Seaside-class ships and carries around 4,100 passengers. Its design is noticeably different from much of the rest of the fleet, with a focus on bringing people closer to the water through wide waterfront promenades, lots of outdoor seating, and low-slung open decks. It feels more like a modern resort with an emphasis on open-air space rather than a towering, enclosed ship.

The public areas include a large central atrium with bars and entertainment, several lounges, and a theatre for nightly shows. Outside, the ship offers multiple pools, including one perched at the aft with excellent wake views, along with hot tubs, sun decks, and a mix of quiet corners and lively activity zones. There’s a water park with slides and rope-course elements, but also calmer areas for those who prefer a slower pace.

Dining is a mix of MSC’s main restaurants, a buffet, and several for-fee specialty venues. The layout spreads the options around the ship rather than concentrating everything in one area, which helps keep spaces from feeling too crowded. Bars and cafés are positioned both indoors and outdoors, so passengers can spend plenty of time in open air if they prefer.

Cabins range from basic interior rooms to suites and the more private Yacht Club area, which adds dedicated facilities and a quieter environment. Overall, MSC Seaside offers a more outdoors-oriented take on MSC’s usual style. Still unmistakably MSC in atmosphere, but with a layout that suits warm-weather cruising and passengers who enjoy spending much of their time outside.

Oneworld member Oman Air is currently selling surprisingly cheap tickets to their hub in Muscat, Oman. You can reach their native country’s capital for as little as €1,285 in a lie-flat-seat, with departure from Milan. The cheapest tickets from Rome are only available for recliner seats.

This fare includes priority services, lounge access, seat selection and all other business class goodies. Discounted tickets are available from other European airports as well, with prices rising just a little. Departures are available between January and May 2026.

You would first fly to Istanbul, from where you’d take an 8-hour flight to Seychelles onboard an Airbus A350-900 (3-3-3 configuration). You’ll be served a hot meal and drinks for free during all flights. Even Turkish Airlines’ short-haul fleet features video-on-demand screens and power outlets in economy class.

Destination

Airlines are becoming increasingly creative when it comes to selling miles. Some programs offer “multipliers” to increase already earned miles. Miles&More bundles miles with other “benefits” to avoid them being classified as currency.

Last year, Flying Blue has introduced another option. Similar to British Airways and Avianca, the frequent flyer program of Air France & KLM now offers a miles subscription. Signing up isn’t unattractive either – the prices are better than regular mile purchases, and the subscription can be cancelled at any time.

Those who frequently need Flying Blue miles can get them here for as low as 1.1 cents per mile. Others shouldn’t get too excited, as although Flying Blue offers some fair redemption options, true sweet spots for redemption are rare.

Subscription Options at Flying Blue

Flying Blue offers (in cooperation with Points.com) four different monthly packages for purchasing miles. The price per mile is shown in brackets below:

• 2,000 miles per month for €28 per month (1.4 cpm)
• 5,000 miles per month for €65 per month (1.3 cpm)
• 10,000 miles per month for €120 per month (1.2 cpm)
• 17,000 miles per month for €187 per month (1.1 cpm)

The subscription can be cancelled at any time, with no minimum contract duration.

After signing up, the first credit should appear within 72 hours. Fees are deducted, and miles are credited on a monthly basis.

Mile Expiration at Flying Blue

Miles purchased under this subscription are valid for at least 36 months for German accounts, while others have a minimum validity of 24 months. For status holders, miles never expire.

As long as the subscription is active, the validity of the miles is extended monthly to a full 24 or 36 months. It’s important to note that Flying Blue distinguishes between two types of miles:

• Flight Miles: Miles from flights. If you take at least one flight every 24 months, the validity is extended by another 24 months.
• Commercial Miles: Miles from car rental partners, purchased miles, Amex transfers, etc. These miles can be extended by purchasing or donating at least one mile every 24 months.

Is the Miles Subscription Worth It?

As always, we can’t make the decision for you, but we can offer some guidance. Currently, the miles subscription is more appealing than recent miles purchase offers, where prices ranged between 1.25 and 1.4 euro cents per mile, making them worth it only in certain cases.

If you pay 1.1 cents per mile, you’d effectively be paying €1,021 for a business class one-way from Europe to California. That’s an acceptable price, but not much more than that. Especially as award flights can cost multiples of this amount during peak season.

While some offers may be convincing on their own, it still pays off to compare prices. If you are only interested in the room, then you might be off better when booking with other sites or directly in the hotel. What About the Three-for-Two Promise?

Editor’s Opinion: Celebrity Cruises is classier than other cruise lines at this price level, and the route is truly beautiful, especially for those who’ve already been to the classics like Santorini and Mykonos and can now explore other cool sights instead.

The Route

This itinerary circles the Eastern Mediterranean with a strong mix of ancient history, island scenery, and culture. Starting and ending in Piraeus/Athens, you’ll explore classical Greece with stops in Nauplia for Mycenaean sites, Katákolon for Olympia, and Crete’s vibrant Heraklion. Rhodes offers one of the best-preserved medieval old towns in Europe. The Ship

The Celebrity Infinity, launched in 2001, is one of Celebrity’s Millennium-class ships and carries around 2,100 passengers. It’s smaller than the line’s newer vessels, which gives it a more traditional cruise layout and a quieter overall atmosphere. The design leans toward warm colours, polished wood, and plenty of classic cruise-ship touches rather than big statement features or high-tech elements.

At the centre of the ship is the multi-deck atrium, surrounded by bars, lounges, and cafés that form the core of the social spaces. Elsewhere, you’ll find a theatre for evening shows, a spa and gym, a casino, and several indoor and outdoor relaxation areas. The outdoor decks are straightforward, with one main pool area, hot tubs, and open space for sunbathing or simply watching the sea.

Dining follows a familiar structure: a main dining room with set menus, a buffet for casual meals, and a small selection of speciality restaurants. While the Infinity doesn’t carry the dozens of venues found on newer ships, it offers enough variety for a week at sea without feeling overwhelming. Bars are spread throughout the vessel, giving passengers the option of something quiet or something livelier in the evenings.

Cabins range from inside rooms to suites, with a good number of balconies for a ship of its age. The overall experience tends to appeal to travellers who prefer a calmer, more classic approach to cruising. Less about headline attractions and more about comfortable spaces, steady service, and a manageable ship size.

Star Alliance member Turkish Airlines currently sells discounted business class tickets from Budapest and Stockholm to New York, with prices going as low as €1,597 for a roundtrip. While you need to take a slight detour via Istanbul, this can actually be an upside, as it means more time being spent in a business class seat. Departures are available between January to May 2026.

Turkish Airlines uses different planes for their flights from Istanbul to JFK and Newark (EWR) airport. To John F. Kennedy airport, the airline deploys Boeing 777-300ER planes with the old business class configuration – lie-flat-seats in a 2-3-2 pattern. While you can still enjoy their marvellous catering, ending up in the middle seat might not be what you wish for when paying for a business class ticket.

To Newark, you will fly an Airbus A350-900, with a more modern business class, featuring lie-flat-seats in a 1-2-1 pattern, allowing direct isle access for everyone. Even better, it is very likely that you may experience Turkish Airlines’ new business class suites with sliding doors. the Another upside of flying Turkish Airlines is that you even get a proper business class cabin on short-haul flights, with recliner seats in a 2-2 on your flight from Budapest to Istanbul.

Editor’s Opinion: The fare is roughly €500 cheaper than other business class tickets to New York during the travel period. And the longer flight to Istanbul gives you more opportunity to actually get some sleep on the inbound than the short hops to London or Paris.

The ALL Plus Voyageur is a discount card with 12 months validity and also comes with 20 status nights. Until Friday, November 21, 2025, you can get 4,500 bonus points on top when purchasing it. Within Accor’s redemption system, this equals a fixed value of €90. Because of the cost of the card basically drops from €179 to just €89.

The Voyageur isn’t Accor’s only offer to buy status nights. Since October, you can also purchase the ALL Explorer, which adds 30 status nights to your account and comes with many benefits for hotels in Asia. If you prefer budget travel, the IbisPlus Card, has the lowest price tag and comes with 10 status nights on top.

We have compared all three offers and listed prices and inclusions in this table:

Sadly, the advertised discounts are not as high as promised. The 15% do not come on top of the 5% membership discount, but replace them, giving just 10% discount on public rates. You can check out participating brands on each offer’s promotional page.

A couple of months ago, we published a detailed analysis of the ALL Voyageur on our German site. We came to the conclusion that the promised discounts are real, and you can actually save decent money when booking upscale brands. Still, you should only purchase the Voyageur card if it fits your travel preferences. It’s mostly attractive for people that prefer non-budget accommodation.

Accor ALL Status Tiers

Accor ALL has four different tier levels – Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. You can reach the first three with either nights or revenue based status points. Diamond status can only be reached with points. These are the requirements for each level:

• ALL Silver: 10 nights or 2,000 status points in a calendar year
• ALL Gold: 30 nights or 7,000 status points in a calendar year
• ALL Platinum: 60 nights or 14,000 status points in a calendar year
• ALL Diamond: 26,000 status points in a calendar year

Besides a (negligible) awards points bonus and slightly better chances for a free upgrade, Silver and Gold are basically the same status. If your intention is buying status nights to close the gap between the two: Don’t. It doesn’t pay off.

On the other hand, the difference between Gold and Platinum is quite notable. Platinum status comes with lounge access for two people (globally), and free breakfast for two, but only in Asia. You can also benefit from both early check-in and late check-out during the same stay, while Gold members have to pick one.

If you spend at least three to four weeks each year in Asia and mainly stay at Accor hotels, buying nights to gain Platinum status is worth it. You get free breakfast – and since many middle-tier brands like Mercure or Novotel in this region offer a club lounge, being Platinum pays off in more than one way. People mainly travelling other continents or preferring budget brands shouldn’t consider buying status night to reach a higher tier, as the cost would most likely outweigh the benefits.

Accor ALL Award Points

What makes the current Voyageur offer special is that it comes with 4,500 award points. Accor has a very transparent way for redeeming award points. Hotels don’t have special award rates. Rather, you book a regular cash rate and pay the entire bill (or parts of it) with your points during check-in or check-out. 1,000 points have a fixed value of €20.

Bottom Line

During the ongoing promotions, the ALL Plus Voyageur is the most attractive way to buy ALL status nights. The 4,500 point bonus equals a €90 discount, making the offer cheaper than the Ibis Plus card. Before jumping on the opportunity, you should still reflect if you really need the status nights, since Accor’s Gold status is not worth buying extra nights; and Accor’s Platinum status is worth more in Asia than on any other continent.

Editor’s Opinion: I have purchased the ALL Voyageur during this promotion and a similar promotion last year to gain Platinum tier twice. Thanks to that, I have enjoyed plenty of upgrades and free breakfast in China, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam. When travelling Asia, it’s a notable benefit.

You would always first fly to London in British Airways’ business class. From there, you fly directly to the USA. Usually, your transatlantic flight would be operated by British Airways, with American costing a bit more.

British Airways First Class

British Airways’ first class is not as glamorous as its Middle Eastern or Asian competitors. On the other hand, it’s often offered for prices that are not very far from what others charge for business class. All tickets include a 3x 32 kg baggage allowance, access to first class lounges (where available) and exquisite catering.

The seats are 1.98 m long and also more spacious than those in the new business class Club Suite. However, there are only doors in the latest product on board a few of the Boeing 777 planes. Depending on the type of aircraft, the cabin consists of 8 to 14 first class seats.

American Airlines First Class

At American Airlines, there is only a real first class named Flagship First in the Boeing 777-300. The alignment is like in business class (1-2-1) and otherwise, the seat is (unfortunately) more reminiscent of a good business class, but at least it is a lot more spacious. The swivel function of the seat is quite unique so that you can look straight ahead through the window during the flight.

British Airways deploys their Airbus A350 fleet on flights to Brazil. This is great news, as you will be able to enjoy their Club Suites on the long flights between Latin America and Europe. If you take the 15:45 departure from Madrid, an Iberia Airbus A350-900 takes you from Madrid to London first, meaning you can enjoy lie-flat seats all the way on the outbound.

If you pick Iberia’s non-stop flight back to Madrid, you will fly in an (older) Airbus A330. You can still expect lie-flat-seats in a 1-2-1 pattern, but not a suite with sliding doors.

British Airways was one of the first airlines to offer lie-flat seats – over 20 years ago. And they still continue to be up to date with the newest trends, each seat offering direct access to the aisle. Their best seats are the Club Suites that offer a lot of privacy – but the older seats are fine as well. A general downside at British Airways: there is no free seat reservation, which is unusual for a business class.

Iberia is one of the few airlines that has the same product on (almost) all long-haul planes. Merely a few A350s have a different CL6720 seat, which are basically modern suites. But even with the other seats, you always have direct access to the aisle. The seats which are directly next to the aisle (in every 2nd row), however, only offer limited privacy. In total, it’s a very good product – also thanks to the good food and in-flight entertainment.

This deal is valid without a travel or sales period, though a hefty minimum stay of seven days is required to get the lowest fare. You can find these tickets from February through October 2026.

It’s mainly chosen by travellers who want a practical, family-friendly base in Ao Nang with easy access to the beach and boat trips, without paying for a high-end beachfront resort.

The hotel has received very good reviews (e.g. 4.5/5 on Google or 4.2/5 on TripAdvisor with over 3,000 reviews), many calling it ideal for families, thanks to the excellent, well-maintained pool area, incredibly welcoming staff, and nice vibes. We couldn’t find any recurring point of criticism.

The resort is in Ao Nang, set just behind the main road and roughly a five-minute walk from Nopparat Thara Beach. It’s also within easy walking distance of Ao Nang’s restaurants, shops, and booking points for island-hopping tours. The location works well for guests who want quick access to the area’s beaches and day trips while staying slightly away from the busiest waterfront stretch.

Price Check

Even on the dates where the savings are lowest (in May), you’re saving at least 20% by booking through LuxuryEscapes. Even without the dinner (which, to be honest, isn’t something that saves you a lot of money in a cheap country like Thailand), the hotel charges at least €88 per night. In the summer, the hotel even charges ~€99 per night. So, paying a fixed price of €72 with dinner and cocktails included is definitely a good deal.

Lufthansa‘s low-cost subsidiary Eurowings currently offers cheap tickets for its non-stop services to Abu Dhabi & Dubai. With departure from Berlin, you can score round-trips in BIZclass for just €480. Departures are available from November 2025 through January 2026, with many last chance opportunities to save your status for 2026.

While the travel class is not exactly famous for its overflowing luxury (it’s 3-3 economy class seating with an empty middle-seat), these tickets are a decent mileage run for Miles&More members, netting them 400 Qualifying Points.

These planes have the usual 3-3 economy seating in their BIZclass cabin, albeit with a slightly more generous seat pitch. BIZclass benefits also include an empty middle-seat, lounge access and free food and beverage service. You can also check two bags of 32kg each and bring two cabin bags for free.

Sadly, you can’t expect things like in-flight-entertainment or power outlets. On flights from Berlin to Dubai, you can upgrade to Eurowings’ new long-haul BIZclass with recliner seats in a 2-2 pattern. Sadly, selecting those almost doubles the flight cost.

The Frequent Traveller (= Star Alliance Silver) tier requires 650 Points, 325 of which must be Qualifying Points. As an extension of their Dubai – Bangkok – Da Nang service, Emirates sells tickets between Thailand and Vietnam for as little as €108 r/t or €63 o/w. You can also fly business for 308 r/t. Sadly, the route is not operated by their large Airbus A380 fleet, but a Boeing 777-300ER.

Why it’s awesome: Maybe you should tell us why it’s awesome – because the numbers unexpectedly went through the roof for this one. Bangkok is an important hub in the region, and Da Nang is one of the most attractive, under-the-radar cities in Southeast Asia. Emirates is not only a name with incredible brand recognition, but outprices LCCs on this route. So maybe it’s not such a big surprise it appears here.

The Scenic Eclipse II is an all-suite cruise ship (the smallest cabin starts at 32m²), that embarks on a journey to Antarctica over Christmas and New Year’s Eve 2026/2027. Why it’s awesome: Both the route and the ship itself qualify for true once-in-a-lifetime experiences. With a price-tag that high, it’s rather hard to say anything convincing about value.
