Air France & KLM are once again offering a status match. If you have a frequent flyer status with Miles&More or ITA Volare, you can secure Silver, Gold, or Platinum status with Flying Blue. The status is valid for 12 months. Even the lowest Silver status for €89 would already get you free luggage on all SkyTeam flights for a year!

Costs & Eligibility
Unfortunately, this is a paid status match. The fee depends on the status level you receive with Flying Blue:
- €89 fee for Flying Blue Silver (SkyTeam Elite)
- €199 fee for Flying Blue Gold (SkyTeam Elite Plus)
- €349 fee for Flying Blue Platinum (SkyTeam Elite Plus)
The offer is only valid for status holders of Miles&More or ITA Volare. Additionally, you must reside in Italy.
Which Status Will You Receive?
During the registration process, you can also select programs other than Miles&More. However, according to the FAQ, with a residence in the mentioned countries, only a Miles&More status qualifies for a match.
Based on your current Miles&More status, you will receive the following Flying Blue status:

Miles&More Senators get to choose if they prefer to match to Gold or Platinum status.
Application Process
To use the status match, you first need to visit the landing page at flyingblue.statusmatch.com. There, you’ll enter your name, email address, and Flying Blue membership number. It’s important that the information exactly matches the details on your Flying Blue account.
After selecting your country of residence, you can provide information about your current frequent flyer status and then upload proof of it. This can be either a screenshot of the app or website of the frequent flyer program, or a photo of your physical frequent flyer card.

Depending on your current status, you may be able to choose which status you’d like to receive with Flying Blue, e.g. if you’re a Senator, you can choose between Flying Blue Gold (€199) or Flying Blue Platinum (€349):

The next step is to pay the “participation fee” by credit card. The review process should take no more than three working days. It may take a few more days before the status appears in your Flying Blue account. Once granted, the status is valid for 12 months. After that, you’ll need to meet the regular qualification requirements to retain it.

As a Flying Blue Lifetime Platinum member, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to receive Lufthansa Senator status, as this has unfortunately not been addressed so far.
Thanks for the post!
Does anyone know if PLATINUM gets you a softlanding to GOLD the year after?
Hi Ben! FlyingBlue usually offers said soft landing. However, the match’s terms and conditions are somewhat ambiguous, as they state: “To retain your status past this date, you must re-qualify based on meeting the published status programme requirements on flyingblue.com.” This might affect soft landings – but also, they are a status downgrade, not a retention.
Hi Felix,
many thanks for your detailed and very helpful answer! I really like your website and super friendly support! Keep up this great work 🙂
Is there (i.e. from last year‘s match offer) any info if this offer expires at the end of the Month April or if it extends into May?
Sadly, there’s no information about when this status match expires. Officially, they can end it anytime
Thank you, Ditmar!
