The InterContinental Sydney is currently running a 4-for-3 promotion, meaning that your fourth consecutive night at the hotel is completely free. This free night brings down the average price for the four nights to a mere €157 per night. And as is usual with Virtuoso rates, you’ll also have breakfast, an upgrade, and A$130 (~€73) of hotel credit included. Furthermore, the rate is cancellable up to the day before arrival. You can book your stay until August 31, 2025 for stays until September 30, 2025.
To book this Virtuoso rate at ASMALLWORLD, you need a Premium membership, which costs €79 per year and can be used to book as many stays at all of their hotels as you’d like. Most readers who booked a hotel with ASMALLWORLD in the past year will probably have received the Premium membership for free. But even if you didn’t get it, this deal saves you over €400 for the 4 nights, so investing in that year-long membership pays off instantly.
Some travel agencies can book this Virtuoso rate for you without requiring a membership, but we can’t help you with that. For online bookings, ASMALLWORLD is our preferred and trusted partner.
Our calendar below displays the cheapest dates in green. Remember that the fourth night’s price doesn’t matter as it’s free, but try to get three green dates for your first three nights to get the price as low as possible:

The rooms at the InterContinental Sydney are comfortably large, measuring at least 32 m2. Apparently, you’ll get an upgrade if there’s availability. However, we think that it’s likely that the upgrade will only be something like your room being on a higher floor. Don’t expect your room to necessarily have a view of the Sydney Opera House.
By the way, this is an eligible rate to earn IHG points and nights. Any status benefits that you may have, such as lounge access, will also apply here.
As mentioned before, you’ll also get A$130 (~€73) hotel credit, once per stay. To put that into context, here’s what you’d roughly get with that credit:
- Treasury Bar: 2 chicken schnitzels and 2 non alcoholic cocktails
- Aster Bar: 4 signature cocktails
The Hotel
The InterContinental Sydney occupies a prime location in Circular Quay, inside a 19th-century sandstone building that once housed the city’s Treasury. The hotel mixes historical architecture with modern interiors and caters mostly to business travellers and tourists looking for a central base near the Opera House and Royal Botanic Gardens. Many rooms offer views of the harbour, though not all, and the atmosphere leans more polished than personal. Following a recent renovation, the public spaces feel fresh, and the top-floor lounge adds a notable vantage point over the city.

Previous guests have left good reviews of the hotel (e.g. 4.4/5 on Google, or 4.3/5 on Tripadvisor with over 6,100 reviews), many praising the very convenient location, the amazing view, and the very pleasant atmosphere. The main recurring point of criticism is the limited TV channel selection. Most other bad reviews are 5-10 years old or based on individual occurrences.
The InterContinental Sydney is in a central spot at Circular Quay, near the harbour and within walking distance of major sights like the Opera House, Botanic Gardens, and The Rocks. It’s well connected by public transport, with ferry, train, and light rail services just a few minutes away. The area is busy with both tourists and office workers, and while it can feel a bit commercial at times, it’s a practical base for exploring central Sydney and the waterfront.
Price Check
First, let’s start by checking the claim that the fourth night is free. In fact, the claim is completely truthful, as you can see in the following screenshots:

But let’s also compare the price to what IHG (the InterContinental Hotel Group) charges on its website: On the exact same four nights, the hotel is charging €264 per night for the refundable rate that includes breakfast! So, in reality, you’re saving even more than just the 25% of a 4-for-3 offer, but really over 40%, and that’s not even taking other extras, such as the A$130 (~€73) hotel credit into account.

Over the course of the four nights, you’d be saving roughly €430 by booking through ASMALLWORLD. Even if you were to purchase the 1-year membership only for this deal, you’d still be saving over €300!
The price also absolutely holds up compared to other hotels in Sydney. Even the Holiday Inn is charging more per night, and that’s for a non-refundable rate without breakfast.
