Singapore: £525/€612 Nonstop Singapore Airlines A380 Flights from London (Incl. Checked Bag)

Singapore Airlines A380 1

Star Alliance member Singapore Airlines has issued an interesting fare for nonstop roundtrips between London and Singapore. In late 2024 and early 2025, you can grab these tickets for as little as £525 (~€601) – a roundtrip fare including a checked bag up to 25kg and Singapore Airlines’ excellent onboard service. The only catch: You have to start your journey at Gatwick Airport, while returning to Heathrow.

Our Go2 will forward you to Singapore Airlines with your selected flight dates. You can also check what OTAs have to offer, as they sell these tickets up to £50 (~€57) cheaper. While you can use our Go2 tool for a trial-and-error search, we’ll show you a more reliable method in the Search & Book section. Flights are available in October and November 2024, as well as in the first three months of 2025.

SQ LON SIN 525

Flights from Gatwick to Singapore are overnight flights, operated by an Airbus A350-900 with a 3-3-3 seating pattern in economy class. You usually have multiple options for the inbound. The best might be SQ 308, a long daytime flight, operated by Singapore Airlines’ Airbus A380. These feature a 3-4-3 seating in economy class.

Search & Book

According to the fare rules, these tickets are on sale until May 23, 2024 for travel between August and November 2024. However, you can also find flights in early 2025. A minimum stay of five days between outbound and inbound is necessary to get the best price. Your stay may not exceed six months.

Sadly, Google Flights does not display these fares (yet), nor does the ITA Matrix. However, Singapore Airlines’ website previews them with decent reliability. All you need to do is open the homepage and search for flights from LON (not LGW or LHR) to SIN. Then, click on the outbound date box, without entering a date. A preview calendar shows up, displaying possible roundtrip prices.

Down below, you can adjust the desired length of your trip. The default setting is 4 days, one day less than the minimum stay. Increase the number of days and prices will drop.

You can then enter the flight dates you have found on kayak to score the cheapest tickets or pay a little more directly on the airlines’ website, which we usually recommend.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

This could be a decent way to get two flights out of the required four for the Star Alliance Gold offer for Bonvoy Platinum members. Add a ~150 EUR return short-haul from SIN to Bali or a similar close destination and you’ve met the requirements.
