The Route

From Genua, you’ll first head to Naples, where you can enjoy the view of Mount Vesuvius. From there, you’ll head to Palermo on the northern coast of the Italian island of Sicily, known for its Arab-Norman architecture and amazing food. The next day, you’ll reach La Goulette, roughly 10 km east of Tunis.

After spending a full day at sea, you’ll reach Barcelona, Spain’s second-largest city and the capital of Catalonia – a true tourist hotspot. The last port before getting back to Genoa is Marseille, France’s second-biggest city, named the European Capital of Culture in 2013.

The Ship

The MSC Fantasia was put into service in 2008 and is 333 meters long and 38 meters wide. The ship can go up to 23 knots fast. There are several outdoor pools, an aqua park with water slides, and various bars and restaurants. A total of up to 3,300 guests can be on the ship. There is also a theatre, cigar lounge, spa, kids club and casino. So you won’t get bored that quickly. The main language onboard is English, but the staff usually speaks Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese. The onboard currency for this cruise is Euro.
