With the MSC Grandiosa from MSC Cruises, you can embark on a 21-night transatlantic cruise in April 2026. The journey takes you from Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida to Barcelona and includes numerous stops in the Caribbean and Madeira. The current price of €50 per night is a true bargain for a transatlantic route.
You can currently book a 21-night cruise in an inside cabin from just €1,048 per person. However, the oceanview cabins from €1,291 and balcony cabins from €1,534 are significantly more appealing (prices per person based on double occupancy). Solo travellers can join the cruise in an inside cabin from €1,781.
The route consists of a 7-day-Caribbean cruise, immediately followed by a transatlantic crossing. If you would just book the transatlantic cruise, it would actually get €300 more expensive.

Easy Beverage Package for an Additional €378 per Person

- Spirits (whiskey, vodka, gin, rum, tequila, brandy – one brand per type)
- House wines (red, white, sparkling, rosé)

If you live in Europe, we recommend booking through Travel-Dealz, and if you live in the USA, book via CruiseDirect, as long as the price difference is not significant. If the difference is considerable, you can choose the cheaper option, but keep in mind that the consumer guarantees are different for Americans and Europeans.
Route
Your cruise begins in Port Canaveral. There, you can learn more about the world of space travel at the Kennedy Space Center. If you plan a multi-day pre-stay, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore the various theme parks and major attractions in Orlando. The ship departs in the late afternoon and heads towards Nassau.
During your first stop, you can explore the capital of the Bahamas, perhaps with a stroll through Bay Street in the old town. Several beaches are also nearby. The next day, the MSC Grandiosa docks at the cruise line’s private island. There are seven different beach areas, and water sports activities like kayaking and paddleboarding are also available.
After a day at sea, you will reach Puerto Plata. This port city in the Dominican Republic serves as the starting point for the 27 waterfalls of Damajagua. After another stop in Port Canaveral, you’ll continue to Miami before making your last Caribbean stop in Philipsburg on St. Maarten. The island has been divided between the Netherlands and France since 1648 and offers a great vantage point for planespotters at Maho Beach.
After six days at sea crossing the Atlantic, this journey is rounded off with a stopover in Madeira. In the island’s capital, Funchal, a visit to the botanical garden is worthwhile, offering a good overview of the island’s plant life. You shouldn’t miss a walk through the old town either. After 21 nights, the cruise ends in Barcelona.

Most Europeans need an electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) to enter the USA for up to 90 days. This costs US$21 (~€19) and you should apply for it a couple of days before your trip, at the latest.
There are some cases where you cannot apply for an ESTA, e.g. if you’ve been to Cuba since 2021 or to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, or North Korea since March 2011. In those cases, you’ll need to get a visa from a US embassy or consulate, which can take multiple weeks.
By the way, if you’re mainly interested in a transatlantic cruise, without the Caribbean tour at the beginning, these two deals for roughly €800 may be a good fit:
The Ship
The MSC Grandiosa was built in 2019 and is 331 meters long and 43 meters wide. The ship is the first of the Meraviglia-Plus class and reaches a maximum speed of 23 knots. Across 18 decks, it can accommodate approximately 4,900 passengers and 1,700 crew members.
The ship features 10 restaurants, 21 bars, 5 pools, a spa and wellness area (surcharge), an art museum, “Cirque du Soleil at Sea” shows (with dinner & surcharge), a theatre, a fitness centre, a bowling alley, a water park, an outdoor jogging track, a giant slide, and much more. All Meraviglia-class ships feature a large 2.5-deck promenade and are well-suited for colder regions. A downside is the two elevator shafts, which are located quite centrally and can get congested during peak times.
Unlike the main and buffet restaurants, the 10 specialty restaurants (e.g., Spanish & Japanese) require a surcharge and do not accept drink packages. The food quality is considered exceptionally good by MSC standards.
The main onboard language is English but staff speaking multiple European languages, and the onboard currency is the Euro.
Getting There & Back
The cruise starts in Port Canaveral (Orlando) and ends in Barcelona, so you will need to book a one way flight to Florida if you are taking the cruise from Europe. You can flight from Rome to Orlando for €473 with American Airlines with luggage.
