The cruise begins in the northern Italian port city of Genoa. At the Old Port (Porto Antico), you’ll find not only the second-largest aquarium in Europe but also several museums and a beautiful waterfront promenade. The ship departs in the early evening and first sails to Marseille. The most famous landmark of the French metropolis is arguably the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde. However, a trip to Borely Castle with its magnificent parks and rose garden is also worthwhile.
Next, the journey continues to Barcelona. The Catalan capital boasts famous sights like the Sagrada Família, but it also offers a wealth of culinary delights. At the Mercat de la Boqueria, you can sample fresh produce, tapas, and local specialties. For a fantastic view over the city, head up to Mount Tibidabo.
In Gran Canaria, you can stroll through the old town of Vegueta in the island’s capital, Las Palmas, discovering the Santa Ana Cathedral and the Columbus House. If you’re in the mood for relaxing on the beach, Playa de las Canteras or Playa del Confital are excellent choices. Nature lovers shouldn’t miss a visit to the botanical garden. This is followed by six days at sea, crossing the Atlantic.
The next stop is San Juan. The capital of Puerto Rico has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1983. If you want to learn more about rum production, the Casa Bacardí rum distillery is a great place to visit. The city is also a paradise for shoppers, with numerous stores and boutiques.
The journey continues to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, home to Magens Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It can be easily reached by taxi from the port. The final stop before disembarkation is Miami. Here, famous beaches like South Beach and Miami Beach await. You can immerse yourself in Cuban culture and lifestyle in the Little Havana neighborhood. Getting There & Back
This cruise starts in Genoa, Italy, and ends in Port Canaveral, USA (about 52 miles / 85 km from Orlando). Therefore, you will need to book two one-way flights for your travel. Due to the travel time, we recommend arriving in Italy at least one day before the cruise begins, as the ship will not wait in case of flight or train delays.
To reach Genoa, you have several destinations with direct low-cost flights from Volotea, Wizzair, and Ryanair. You can also fly with flag carriers via Amsterdam with KLM or via Munich with Air Dolomiti. You can save money by flying to Milan or Pisa; Flixbus offers a direct bus from Malpensa, and you can travel by train from Milan Linate (with a trip on the Metro to Milano Centrale) or Pisa.
To get from Port Canaveral to Orlando, you can book a shuttle for US$30 (~€26) or take an Uber to Orlando for around US$60 (~€51) for up to four people.
