MSC Seashore at Ocean Cay

Looking for a quick escape from Florida to the Caribbean? How about boarding the MSC Seashore for only €224 (~US$263) per person? Spend 3 nights relaxing onboard a pretty new ship, and explore the Bahamas, with all meals and tips included. The cruise departs on February 27 and returns to Port Canaveral on March 2, 2025.

As mentioned before, all prices are per person, including tips, all meals, and water, coffee, tea, and milk, all day at the buffet area.

The Route

This 4-day cruise begins in Cape Canaveral, Florida, with an afternoon departure. The first stop is Nassau, the lively capital of the Bahamas, where you’ll have nearly a full day to explore its beaches, shops, and local culture.

Next, the ship visits Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, a private island with clear waters and white sand, offering a chance to relax or enjoy water activities.

The trip concludes with an early morning return to Cape Canaveral, wrapping up a short but memorable getaway to the Bahamas.

Here’s the detailed itinerary:

  • February 27: Cape Canaveral (departs at 17:00)
  • February 28: Nassau (9 hours)
  • March 1: Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve (11 hours)
  • March 2: Cape Canaveral (arrives at 7:00)

The Ship

The MSC Seashore was commissioned in 2021 and is 339 meters long and 41 meters wide. A total of up to 5,600 passengers and 1,300 crew members fit on the ship. There is an aqua park, baby and kids club, spa and yacht club and all kinds of entertainment programs. There are also several restaurants (including speciality restaurants, for which you have to pay extra) and bars.

Prices for internet packages are not listed on MSC’s website but become available once booked. You can purchase daily packages, worth up to $20 per day. You can find more information about Wi-Fi on MSC cruise ships here.

Getting to Port Canaveral

The best airport to get to Port Canaveral is Orlando. From most American cities, Frontier offers the cheapest flights. Here are some examples of what you’d currently pay (for the light fare that merely includes a backpack):

If you’re from Europe, one of the cheapest options is flying from London to Orlando with Norse for €418 (~£365) r/t with 10 kg of hand luggage.

From Orlando airport, you can take a shuttle to Port Canaveral, e.g. GoPort for US$30 (~€26) per direction. A taxi would cost far more (~ $120).

When booking the flights, you should always make sure that you arrive early. If you are late, the ship will not wait for you. So it is better to plan a one-day (or even better, two or more days) buffer.
