With the MSC Seaside from MSC Cruises, you can embark on a 19-night transatlantic cruise in October 2025. The journey takes you from Barcelona to Miami and includes stops in Spain, Morocco, Barbados, Grenada, St. Maarten, and Puerto Rico. The current price of around €40 per night is a true bargain for an interior cabin on such an exciting transatlantic route.
You can currently book an interior cabin from just €769 per person. However, the oceanview cabins from €1,009 and balcony cabins from €1,249 are significantly more appealing (prices per person based on double occupancy). Solo travellers can join the cruise in an interior cabin from €1,310.

Route
The cruise starts in Barcelona on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. If you have time for a pre-cruise stay, don’t miss iconic sights like the famous La Rambla boulevard or the architectural marvel of the Sagrada Família.
After leaving the Catalan metropolis, the journey continues to Valencia. In its old town, you can visit the cathedral, which dates back to 1262 and whose bell tower is the city’s landmark. The ship then makes a stop in Morocco, docking in Casablanca. A must-see is the huge Hassan II Mosque, partially built over the water and completed in 1993.
Following the stop in Africa, you will enjoy eight relaxing days at sea crossing the Atlantic before the ship reaches Bridgetown, Barbados, the birthplace of the famous singer Rihanna. The next port of call is St. George’s, Grenada, where you can see historic warehouses from the French and British colonial eras along the quay promenade.
The voyage continues through the Caribbean with stops at the vibrant island of St. Maarten and then San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After two final days at sea, the 19-night cruise concludes in Miami, Florida.

Most Europeans need an electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) to enter the USA for up to 90 days. This costs US$21 (~€19) and you should apply for it a couple of days before your trip, at the latest.
There are some cases where you cannot apply for an ESTA, e.g. if you’ve been to Cuba since 2021 or to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, or North Korea since March 2011. In those cases, you’ll need to get a visa from a US embassy or consulate, which can take multiple weeks.
The Ship
The MSC Seaside was commissioned in 2017, is 323 meters long, and 41 meters wide. The ship, part of the Seaside class, can reach speeds of up to 23 knots. It was built at the Fincantieri shipyard at a cost of around US$950 million and can accommodate up to 5,300 guests. A special feature includes the panoramic elevators at the stern and a 30-meter-long glass bridge.
The ship offers several outdoor pools, an Aqua Park with water slides, a high ropes course, a theatre, a cigar lounge, a spa, a kids’ club, and a casino. For sports activities, you’ll find a bowling alley, a basketball court, and a tennis court, ensuring you’ll never be bored.
Dining options include seven restaurants, with speciality venues like a steakhouse and a fish restaurant available for an additional charge. There are also 17 bars to choose from.
The onboard languages are English and Italian. On itineraries with many international guests, multilingual staff members are usually available, identifiable by a flag on their name tags.
