Route
The night train operates daily in both directions. The journey begins in Stuttgart around 20:29. You can board at Munich East just before midnight before the train crosses Austria during the night. In the morning, the train travels through Slovenia, stopping in Ljubljana just before eight in the morning. You will arrive in Zagreb around 10:30.
In the opposite direction, the train departs from Zagreb at 19:38, leaves Ljubljana just after 22:00, and departs from Villach just before midnight. During the night, the train crosses Austria again before stopping in Munich East just before six in the morning. The journey ends in Stuttgart at 08:38.

Comfort & Travel Classes
In the seating carriage, there are compartments with 6 seats each. Unfortunately, the seats cannot be combined into a flat surface, as it’s possible in older ÖBB Nightjet trains. Booking private compartments for up to 3 people is possible.
In the couchette car, you have a choice between compartments for up to 4 or 6 people. Public washing and toilet facilities are located in the carriage. In addition to bedding, a small breakfast is also included. A private compartment can also be booked here.
In the sleeper cabin, there is room for up to 3 people, depending on the compartment. A washbasin is available, and the toilet is located in the hallway. A small breakfast in the morning is included in this price, as well.
Search & Book
The best way to search and book night train tickets is directly on the Nightjet website. Currently, the timetables are available until April 2026. Accordingly, you can secure a cheap ticket well in advance. The night train is bookable approximately 180 days in advance, and further dates are regularly released. Tickets at the lowest price are broadly available during most of the 2025/2026 winter, but prices can go up around Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
