  • Alcoholic beverages outside meal times

The Route

Your cruise begins in Miami. The metropolis in the US state of Florida serves as a starting point for Caribbean cruises by all major cruise lines. The Insignia departs the port at around 5:00 pm, and your journey starts with two relaxing days at sea. The first stop is San Juan. The capital of Puerto Rico has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. There you will find colourful colonial buildings and centuries-old forts. But you might simply want to spend a relaxing day on one of its beaches.

Next, the cruise continues to Basseterre. The capital of St. Kitts and Nevis has around 12,000 residents who mainly work in the textile industry. The city’s architecture is influenced by British and French colonial times. Afterwards, the Insignia sails on to St. John’s. In the capital of Antigua and Barbuda, you can shop duty-free, e.g. at Heritage Quay near the port. By the way, sugar cane is still grown on the surrounding plantations.

The next port is Philipsburg on St. Maarten. The city lies in the Dutch part of the island, while the other part belongs to France. This peaceful division has existed since 1648. Plane spotters might enjoy a visit to Maho Beach, located right next to the international airport. The final Caribbean stop is Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas. There, you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view from Paradise Point. After 10 nights, the cruise ends back in Miami.

Flights

The flights to Miami are not included in the price. As you may imagine, the period around Christmas is not necessarily the cheapest time of the year to cross the Atlantic. Currently, the cheapest deals to Miami in that period can be found from Scandinavia, the following prices being charged for a ticket including hand luggage and checked luggage:
