LuxuryEscapes Cancellation Policy
LuxuryEscapes offers a rather complicated cancellation policy. It basically comes in three steps:
- Until 7 days after booking: You get a full refund in your original payment form. This is the last chance to get your money back.
- over 22 days before your stay: You can get a full refund in form of a LuxuryEscapes credit. You won’t get your money back, but can use it to book a different hotel on LuxuryEscapes.
- Less than 21 days before you stay: You won’t get a refund in any form if you cancel or no-show.
You will be staying in a 21 m2 Garden View Room with two queen beds. The room offers amenities such as hammocks, a terrace, and Wi-Fi.
We focused on the cheapest room type, but there are plenty of better rooms that you can book at a discounted rate through LuxuryEscapes, too. The Hotel
Mahekal Beach Resort in Playa del Carmen is a more traditional, lower-rise beachfront resort with bungalow-style accommodation rather than a big tower hotel. It sits right on a wide stretch of beach, but still close enough to walk into the main town area. Rooms vary quite a lot in layout and style depending on category, and many don’t follow the typical big-chain resort look. People usually choose it if they want a simpler, more relaxed beach stay in Playa where you actually feel like you’re staying at the beach rather than inside a large hotel complex.

The resort is on the north side of Playa del Carmen, on a quieter beachfront stretch but still close enough that you can reach 5th Avenue and the main restaurant/shopping area on foot. You’re not isolated, but you also aren’t in the most crowded part of Playa. It’s a location that works well for people who want beach access without giving up the ability to easily walk into town.
Price Check
This resort is not cheap. Even though you’d be staying in the cheapest room (facing the garden), the normal price for that room – including breakfast and dinner – still lies at around €320 per night! That means that by booking through LuxuryEscapes, you’re saving around 35%!
