Almost everyone who has been to Singapore has heard the name Raffles. Be it because Sir Stamford Raffles founded the port city of Singapore, or because their subway passed Raffles Places MRT station, or because they stumbled upon the famous Raffles hotel when looking for a place to stay. This historic 5-star hotel was opened in 1887 and is clearly one of Singapore’s best hotels.
110 years after its opening, the Raffles Hotel started expanding to further properties, taking over 2 hotels in Cambodia. Then in 2001 it acquired Swissôtel and joined Fairmont Hotels in 2005. Since 2016, the brand belongs to Accor and has been expanding quite a bit, opening 10 hotels in the past 6 years. Now there are 21 Raffles hotels worldwide, offering an absolutely luxurious experience to its guests.

Conclusion
It’s interesting to see the large price span of this luxury brand. Even within the same region, you have some hotels charging 4-digit prices, while others charge around €200-300. Regarding the locations, the brand is well-represented in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Their presence in Europe is small, but they’re basically irrelevant in America, Africa, and Oceania.
If you live in Europe and are curious to experience a night at a Raffles hotel, a short trip to Warsaw could be quite an interesting option.
