Bangkok: €1,346 Royal Jordanian Business Class Flights from Athens (Long Outbound Layover)

Crown Seats Royal Jordanian

Oneworld member Royal Jordanian Airlines brings us a business class deal from Athens to Bangkok, starting at €1,346. This fare includes 2x30kg checked luggage and all the business class perks. The main caveat with this fare is that it requires an 11-hour layover at an inconvenient time (16:10 – 03:10) in Amman on the outbound flight. You can find availabilities between late August and October 2025, as well as in early 2026.

Our availability calendar displays all potential flight dates at the best price for trips lasting up to 28 days, with a maximum price of €1,600. It will forward you to Skyscanner with your selected flight dates. From there, you can proceed to Royal Jordanian or check what OTAs have to offer, as they sell these tickets up to €140 cheaper.

First, you will travel from Athens to Amman in a Royal Jordanian Embraer 175/195 with a 1-2 configuration or an Airbus A320 family aircraft with a 2-2 configuration, and then you will fly to Bangkok in a Boeing 787 with lie-flat seats in a 2-2-2 configuration.

Royal Jordanian’s long haul fleet consists entirely of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. Their premium cabin features 24 Business Class seats, arranged in a 2-2-2 pattern. All seats are fully reclinable to a lie flat position. The presentation of food and beverage service does the airlines’ name justice – it’s regal. According to most reviews, Royal Crown lives up to international standard. Although some reviewers had to fight through extremely unpleasant circumstances.

Visa Info

Most European citizens can enter Thailand visa-free for 60 days when travelling for touristic purposes.

If you wish to enter Jordan during your stop-over, most EU citizens can apply for a visa-on-arrival directly at the airport, coming with a price-tag of JOD 40 (~€48).

Search & Book

The fare doesn’t have an expiration date, but a minimum stay of two days and a maximum stay of twelve months apply. You can find availabilities between late August and October 2025, as well as in early 2026.

You can find suitable dates using our calendar above or with the help of Google Flights. We recommend booking directly on Royal Jordanian’s website, but you can find cheaper prices with Skyscanner. However, booking on OTAs has its downsides.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Amman, the capital of Jordan, offers a mix of ancient and modern attractions, with key sights including the Citadel, the Roman Theater, and Rainbow Street.
