Newark: €243 SAS Flights from Dublin w/ Overnight Layover (€322 incl. Checked Bags), Premium Economy at €493

New York

Scandinavian Airlines is currently offering an interesting fare for travel from Dublin to Newark during the winter. The airline sells tickets for as little as €243 through online travel agency trip.com. To get this price, you need to stay at least one night in either Stockholm or Oslo during your outbound flight.

This is a light fare that only includes a personal item. The cheapest ticket including a checked bag of 23kg both ways is available at €322. SkyTeam Elite members can bring a checked bag for free.

You can also fly premium economy (SAS Plus) for less than €500 r/t. In that case, a checked bag, full board service and even lounge access during your layover are included.

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Skyscanner with your selected flight dates, where you can compare prices. You can also proceed directly to trip.com.

Flights between Dublin and Scandinavia are operated by SAS short-haul fleet. Food and soft drinks are only available for purchase. SAS’ Airbus A330-300 fleet handles long-haul duties to New York. These aircraft feature a 2-4-2 seating pattern in their economy class section.

If you book premium economy, food and beverages are included in your ticket on both flights. You won’t only benefit from more legroom on the long-haul flight, but also from more space as the seats are wider in a 2-3-2 pattern.

Information & Tips for USA

The United States offers a wide range of tourist sights, from national parks like Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon to cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. The currency is the U.S. dollar (USD), and card payments are widely accepted. Prices vary by region but can be high in major cities, especially for accommodation and dining. Weather differs greatly across the country—winters can be harsh in the north, while the south often stays mild; summers are generally hot and humid in many areas.

The U.S. transport infrastructure is highly car-dependent, especially outside major cities. Urban centres like New York, Chicago, and San Francisco have functional public transit, but many other cities have limited options. Between cities, domestic flights are common for long distances, while intercity buses and Amtrak trains cover some routes, though often with slower speeds and less frequency compared to other countries. Without a car, getting around can be inconvenient in many parts of the country.
