Osaka: €1,531 Shanghai Airlines Business Class from Budapest until January

Osaka Castle from below

SkyTeam members Shanghai Airlines and China Eastern are currently offering cheap business-class flights to Osaka. While they come with the downside of having two layovers in each direction, the price makes up for that inconvenience, starting at merely €1,531 (~HUF 597,261).

Our calendar displays all available dates for trips of 7-35 days. Once you’ve selected your preferred dates, it can redirect you to Skyscanner:

Sadly, flying with only one stop is not possible (at this price). You’ll always have a flight between Budapest and China, a Chinese domestic flight, and a flight between China and Osaka. The Chinese cities vary by date. But at least all segments are business-class.

Visa Info

Most European passport holders can spend up to 90 days in Japan visa-free.

The long-haul flights between Budapest and China are operated by Shanghai Airlines with lie-flat seats. The other flights are either with Shanghai Airlines or China Eastern. Usually, Shanghai Airlines is the better choice, as the often have real business class seats (sometimes even lie-flat) on the shorter flights.

Information & Tips for Osaka

The local currency is the Japanese yen (JPY), and most places accept cash, though credit cards are becoming more common. The weather is humid subtropical, with hot, rainy summers and cool, mild winters, so packing appropriately for the season is important.

Information & Tips for Japan

Japan offers a blend of modern cities and natural beauty, with highlights including Tokyo’s bustling urban landscape, Kyoto’s historic temples, Mount Fuji, and the hot springs of Hakone. The currency is the Japanese yen (JPY), and credit cards are widely accepted in urban areas, though cash is still common in rural regions. Japan can be pricey, especially in cities, with high costs for accommodation and dining, but budget options are available. The weather varies by region: summers are hot and humid, while winters can be cold, particularly in the north. The best time to visit is typically during spring (for cherry blossoms) or autumn (for fall foliage).

Japan’s transport infrastructure is highly efficient and easy to navigate. In cities like Tokyo and Osaka, the metro and train systems are extensive, punctual, and relatively easy to use, though they can get crowded during peak hours. Buses and taxis are also available, but less convenient for tourists. For intercity travel, Japan’s Shinkansen (bullet trains) are fast, comfortable, and reliable, though more expensive than other options. Buses and domestic flights are also available for longer distances, but trains remain the preferred choice for many travellers due to speed and convenience.
