Star Alliance members Turkish Airlines and Air New Zealand are currently offering a deal for business class flights to Auckland, New Zealand, starting at just €2,583 (~NOK 30,465) from Oslo. Apart from a change of planes in Istanbul, you have to stay roughly 22 hours in Bali on the outbound flight, which is not necessarily a downside.
Departures are available from February to May 2026. Tickets are exclusively available through online travel agencies.
Here are some examples for possible travel dates at this fare:
These tickets are very hard to find. We have been able to confirm travel dates for Monday departures between February and May 2026 in each direction.

The feeder flights to and from Istanbul are operated on Turkish Airlines’s narrowbody fleet, with recliners in a 2-2 pattern in economy class. Between Istanbul and Kuala Lumpur, you are scheduled to fly on a Boeing 787-9, featuring Turkish Airlines’ newer business class seats (Review). After reaching Bali, you have to spend at least 22 hours on the island.
The onward journey to Auckland is on a Wamos Air A330 with, leased by Air New Zealand. You can still expect lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 pattern.
If your desired destination is not New Zealand, you can save €300 by travelling to Adelaide, Australia on a similar ticket and itinerary:
Most European citizens don’t need a visa to enter New Zealand for up to three months. An online registration called NZeTA is mandatory.
Most European passport holders can stay in Indonesia for 30 days with an eVisa. Here is the official website
Search & Book
We have not been able to locate fare rules for these tickets. We have been able to find several departures for less than €3,000r/t between February and May 2026.
This fare does not show up on Google Flights or Turkish Airlines’ website, which allow shows routings via Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore (we have a deal for that here). To find suiting flight dates, we recommend using trip’s best price calendar at the top of the search bar. It does not preview prices, but delivers quick results.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
Editor’s Note: This is a fascinating fare, mainly because Bali usually is not used as a transition point for flights like these. The price is decent, too. The 22-hour layover is great to get a taste of the island, even if it doesn’t allow for trips to places like Ubud. I recommend being decisive on this one, as it will be gone sooner rather than later.

Information & Tips for Auckland
Auckland offers a variety of attractions for travelers. Key sights include the iconic Sky Tower, offering panoramic views, the Auckland War Memorial Museum for a deep dive into New Zealand’s history and culture, and Waiheke Island, known for its vineyards and beaches, easily accessible by ferry. The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) is the official currency.
Generally, Auckland can be considered a moderately priced destination, with daily costs varying based on travel style. Accommodation, dining out, and transport can be similar to or slightly higher than some European cities, especially in central areas.
Auckland experiences a subtropical climate, characterized by warm, humid summers (December-February) and mild winters (June-August). Rainfall is fairly consistent year-round, so be prepared for occasional showers.

Information & Tips for Bali
Bali is known for its stunning beaches, vibrant rice terraces in Ubud, and cultural landmarks like Uluwatu Temple and Tanah Lot. The local currency is the Indonesian rupiah (IDR), and while credit cards are accepted in many places, cash is still commonly used, especially in smaller towns and markets. The cost of living is generally low, with affordable food, accommodation, and activities, though luxury options are also available. Bali has a tropical climate with a wet season from November to April and a dry season from May to October, making the latter ideal for outdoor activities.
Bali’s transport infrastructure is fairly basic, and getting around can be challenging, especially during peak hours. Within cities like Denpasar or tourist areas like Kuta and Ubud, traffic congestion is common, and public transportation is limited. Most locals and visitors rely on scooters or ride-hailing apps, which are convenient but can be overwhelming for first-time visitors. Traveling between towns is possible by car or shuttle buses, but the roads are often narrow and winding, making journeys slower than expected.
