France has two types of high-speed TGV trains: the classic TGV, now called TGV inOui, runs frequently, includes a bistro car, and is considered the premium service. Alongside it is TGV Ouigo, the low-cost option—think of it as the budget airline of trains: the cheapest tickets only include a small piece of hand luggage, seat selection costs extra, and so on.
Normally, TGV inOui journeys are more expensive. However, there’s currently a flash sale where you can travel through France on the “real” TGV from just €19 each way. In many cases, it’s even cheaper than the budget version. The offer is only valid until June 26 for travel between August 18 and 31, 2025.
First-class tickets are available starting at €29 each way. The deal covers numerous domestic routes within France. Here are some example prices:
- Strasbourg – Paris from €19 (approx. 2h)
- Paris – Nantes from €19 (approx. 2h)
- Colmar – Paris from €19 (approx. 2h 40m)
- Paris – Marseille from €19 (approx. 3h)
- Paris – Bordeaux from €19 (approx. 3h 20m)
- Paris – Brest from €19 (approx. 4h)
- Paris – Quimper from €19 (approx. 4h)
- Paris – Perpignan from €19 (approx. 5h)
- Paris – Hendaye from €19 (approx. 5h)
- Paris – Tarbes from €19 (approx. 5h)
- Paris – Nice from €19 (approx. 6h)
