The Verandah King Room measures 50m2 and features a bathtub in addition to the private balcony or terrace. As this is an adult-only hotel, there are no accommodations for child beds. Upon check-in, you’ll receive a bottle of sparkling wine, a gin cocktail with cranberry juice and Earl Grey Tea, a Reef House history book and a Sleep Easy support guide.
You’ll be able to enjoy your complimentary breakfast between 06:30 and 10:00. Each day, you get a A$100 (~€57) dining voucher, which buys a 2-course dinner for one in the Reef House Restaurant. Most lunch offers (for example, the Singapore Noodles) set you back A$34 (~€19) per dish.
You can also get a free tropical sorbet every day at 15:00 and free-flow alcoholic punch and canapes between 17:00 and 18:00. LuxuryEscapes Cancellation Policy
LuxuryEscapes offers a rather complicated cancellation policy. It basically comes in three steps:
- Until 7 days after booking: You get a full refund in your original payment form. This is the last chance to get your money back.
- over 46 days before your stay: You can get a full refund in form of a LuxuryEscapes credit. You won’t get your money back, but can use it to book a different hotel on LuxuryEscapes.
- Less than 45 days before you stay: You won’t get a refund in any form if you cancel or no-show.
The Hotel
The Reef House Adults retreat is a 5-star adults-only (16+) resort just across the street from the beach of Palm Cove, Queensland, Australia. You can get to the hotel from Cairns Airport in approximately 30 minutes by car. The area has many restaurants in different price ranges, and there are several activities.
Previous guests gave good ratings: the property sports a 4.4 rating on Google and a 4.7 rating on TripAdvisor. The hotel gets primarily positive reviews in every category. However, the rooms only get a 4.4 on TripAdvisor, and 19% of those mentioning “room(s)” on Google had a negative review. You should check the pictures of the rooms and decide whether it’s up to your expectations.
The hotel’s website says that there will be renovations between January 14 and February 5, 2026. During this time, the hotel may close the Wine Room and the Brigadiers Lounge.
Editor’s Note: This is a good deal for people looking for high-end relaxation without having to deal with children during their trip to Australia. LuxuryEscapes beats the price by 30+% with good availability in the months they consider Summer Down Under. The dining credit of 100 dollarydoos each day is a nice touch, but I’d probably use it for lunch and explore nearby dining options for dinner.

While many of the benefits listed above are also part of the property’s Signature Inclusions, LuxuryEscapes still beats the best offers by a landslide. The hotel’s similar offer (Rest & Refresh Rejuvenation Package including one dinner instead of daily credit) costs A$837 (~€477) per night for 3-night itineraries in the same room category. Without the credits, Trip.com offers the Verandah King Room at €550 (~A$964) per night.
When you compare the two offers, LuxuryEscapes comes out victorious by ~34%. Plus, you get A$100 (~€57) dining credit instead of a 3-course dinner (worth A$129 (~€74) per person).
