Once a year, World of Hyatt updates the prices for award nights. Now it’s that time again, and Hyatt has announced where prices will be increased and decreased. In total, there are 151 changes: 118 hotels will become more expensive, and prices will be reduced for 33 hotels.
Unlike other hotel chains, Hyatt still has fixed categories. Within the categories, there are three price bands: the regular points value, the “off-peak” season, and the “peak” season. Fortunately, the prices are not completely dynamic, as is the case with e.g. IHG or Hilton.
The new prices will apply to bookings made from March 25, 2025. It is important to note that those who book before this date will still benefit from the old values. In the case of a price reduction, the difference will be automatically refunded.
All changes can be transparently tracked on Hyatt’s website. Therefore, here’s just a brief look at the changes in Europe.
You can currently buy Hyatt Points with a discount of 25%, meaning they come at a price of 1.98 US cents per point. If you want to stay at one of the hotels getting more expensive at the lower rate, you should check out this offer.
Changes in Europe
In Europe, there are mostly price increases. The number of hotels with downward adjustments is rather low – only a single hotel is affected:
- Category 1 → 2 (8,000 instead of 5,000 points):
- Lindner Hotel Vienna am Belvedere 🇦🇹
- Lindner Hotel Antwerp 🇧🇪
- Lindner Hotel Prague Castle 🇨🇿
- Hyatt Place Frankfurt Airport 🇩🇪
- Lindner Hotel Düsseldorf Airport 🇩🇪
- Lindner Hotel Düsseldorf Seestern 🇩🇪
- Lindner Hotel Frankfurt Sportpark 🇩🇪
- Story Hotel Malmo 🇸🇪
- Category 2 → 3 (12,000 instead of 8,000 points)
- Lindner Hotel Frankfurt Main Plaza 🇩🇪
- Me and all Hotel Hanover 🇩🇪
- Category 3 → 4 (15,000 instead of 12,000 points):
- Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower 🇪🇸
- Category 4 → 5 (20,000 instead of 15,000 points):
- Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile 🇫🇷
- Hyatt Centric The Liberties Dublin 🇮🇪
- Category 5 → 6 (25,000 instead of 20,000 points):
- The Tribune Rome 🇮🇹
- Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars 🇬🇧
- Category 6 → 7 (30,000 instead of 25,000 points):
- Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht 🇳🇱
- Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill 🇬🇧
- Category 7 → 8 (40,000 instead of 30,000 points):
- Il Tournabuoni Hotel Florence 🇮🇹
Prices will be reduced for the following hotels:
- FirstName Bordeaux 🇫🇷 (4 → 3; 12,000 instead of 15,000 points)
The example prices in the lists above refer to the standard award night. Depending on the season, prices may vary slightly, e.g., hotels in category 1 cost either 3,500, 5,000, or 6,500 points per night.
Bottom Line
In times of rising hotel prices, devaluation at World of Hyatt is not surprising. It is at least commendable that Hyatt announces the changes transparently with one month’s notice.
After the changes, the number of European hotels in category 1 significantly decreases – there are only eight left, located in Rouen (France), Cologne (Germany), Ulm (Germany), Kraków (Poland), Bratislava (Slovakia), Stockholm (Sweden) and two around Frankfurt. You can find these here on the world map.
An interesting trend is going on in Bordeaux and Florence. While the FirstName Bordeaux has been devalued for the second year in a row (dropping from 5 to 3 in 14 months), the Il Tournabuoni Hotel Florence has risen from 6 to 8 in the same time period.

Kleine Korrektur: in Frankfurt ist es das Hyatt Place und nicht “Grant (wäre sonst auch Grand) Palace”
