Widerøe Ends Partnership with SAS EuroBonus on October 16

Wideroe

Widerøe is a Norwegian regional airline. For many years, the airline cooperated with SAS and its frequent flyer program EuroBonus. Surprisingly, the cooperation continued even after Widerøe was acquired by the low-cost carrier Norwegian.

Now, SAS has announced that, unfortunately, the partnership will end on October 16, 2025. Instead, Widerøe will then be integrated into the Norwegian Reward program.

For EuroBonus customers, this has the following consequences:

  • From October 16, no more EuroBonus points will be awarded for Widerøe flights
    • retroactive credit for flights up to 15.10. will be possible until April 2026
  • From October 16, all status benefits (free hand luggage, checked baggage, lounge access, etc.) will be discontinued
  • Existing SAS tickets with Widerøe segments remain valid but can no longer be rebooked after October 16

This development does not come as a particular surprise. Widerøe’s new owner, Norwegian Air, is in direct competition with SAS and has little interest in continuing the cooperation. However, at least for the status benefits, we would have wished for a transitional period.
