Star Alliance member TAP Air Portugal is currently offering a status match. If you have a frequent flyer status with one of 15 frequent flyers programs, you can secure Silver or Gold status with Miles&Go. The status is valid for 12 months. Silver status already grants you access to TAP lounges on TAP flights, and comes with a €49 price-tag. Gold status comes with full-fledged Star Alliance Gold benefits, but is also rather expensive at €199.

How to Apply?
To use the status match, you first need to visit the landing page at tap.statusmatch.com. There, you’ll enter your name, email address, and TAP Miles&Go membership number. It’s important that the information exactly matches the details on your Miles&Go account.
After selecting your country of residence, you can provide information about your current frequent flyer status and then upload proof of it. This can be either a screenshot of the app or website of the frequent flyer program, or a photo of your physical frequent flyer card.
After entering your details and uploading proof, you will be forwarded to the payment screen. There you can see your matched and new status.
The next step is to pay the fee by credit card. The review process should take no more than three working days. It may take a few more days before the status appears in your TAP account. Once granted, the status is valid for 12 months. After that, you’ll need to meet the regular qualification requirements to retain it.
