China Southern is currently offering discounted business class flights from Amsterdam to Southeast Asia. The cheap tickets are being sold for flights to Manila and Cebu City in the Philippines. You can purchase a round-trip at prices starting around €1,174.
The availability of this deal is good. You should be able to find connections between January and September 2020.
From Amsterdam, the Chinese carrier will first fly you to Guangzhou. The long-haul flight will be onboard a Boeing 787 Dreamliner in most cases. After a short layover, your trip to the Philippines will continue. Unfortunately, the short-haul segments won’t offer lie-flat seats.

According to the fare rules, the airline will be selling those tickets until November 30th. Or of course, until the cheap seats have sold out. The offer is valid for trips commencing between December 28th and September 30th, 2020. And we’ve been able to find discounted connections during this whole period.
The minimum stay requirements are six days. Alternatively, you can also just spend one night from Saturday to Sunday at your preferred destination. If you want to stay a little longer: 3 months is the maximum.
Use Google Flights (instructions) to find the best and cheapest flights that are included in this offer. Once you’ve settled for a date, have Google forward you to the carrier’s website. Or just use our Travel Dealz flight search to compare prices from OTAs. This can save you over €100 this time.
Mileage
All tickets will be issued in booking class I. Although China Southern is not a member of SkyTeam anymore, there are still a few partners that will let you earn miles for this flight. Here’s what a trip to Manila can get you:

Information & Tips for Philippines
The Philippines is an archipelago of over 7,000 islands, known for its beaches, diving spots, and volcanic landscapes. Key destinations include Palawan for its limestone cliffs and lagoons, Cebu for diving and whale sharks, and the rice terraces of Banaue. The local currency is the Philippine Peso (PHP). Costs are relatively low, especially outside major cities, with budget-friendly options for food, transport, and lodging. The weather is tropical—hot and humid—with a rainy season typically from June to November and a dry season from December to May.
Getting around the Philippines can be challenging, especially in cities where traffic congestion is common and public transport is limited. In urban areas like Manila, jeepneys, buses, and tricycles are widely used but can be confusing for newcomers. Intercity travel often requires flights due to the country’s island geography, though ferries and long-distance buses are also options. Infrastructure quality varies, and delays are not uncommon, so planning ahead is important.
