New York City: €321 Non-Stop Delta Flights From Madrid (€441 with Checked Luggage)

new york waterfront park

SkyTeam members Delta Air Lines, KLM & Air France bring us today a deal from Madrid to New York starting at €321. The price doesn’t include luggage but can be added a 23kg checked luggage for €120 return. Departures are available from September to April 2025.

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will redirect you to KLM or Skyscanner with your selected flight dates.

We offer three different destinations: When searching flights to JFK, only nonstop flights will be displayed. Searching flights to NYC will additionally show you flights with one layover in Amsterdam, Paris or Atlanta. Searching flights to LGA will display only those with LaGuardia Airport as their final destination.

Info

If you fly to LaGuardia instead of taking a direct flight to JFK, you’ll complete immigration in Atlanta. From there, you’ll take a second connecting flight to LaGuardia, allowing you to arrive in Manhattan faster, cheaper and more comfortably than if you went through immigration at JFK. Plus, you’ll have the chance to earn more miles, points or segments in your frequent flyer program.

Delta uses a Boeing 767 with a 2-3-2 configuration for its flights between Madrid and New York JFK. If you’re flying via Amsterdam or Paris, you’ll have more plane types to choose from. If you fly on the Airbus A330, you will have a 2-4-2 configuration. If you fly on the Airbus A350 or Boeing 787, you will have a 3-3-3 configuration. In the case of flying with other planes, you will encounter a 3-4-3 configuration.

Search & Book

The flights can be booked until May 22, 2024. The minimum stay requirement is one Sunday. Furthermore, your stay cannot exceed 3 months. Departures are available from September to April 2025

Our calendar above displays all available dates, as does Google Flights. Depending on your personal preference, you can either book these flights on KLM’s website or Delta’s website, but you can find cheaper prices with Skyscanner. However, booking on OTAs has its downsides.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Miles & Points

The number of miles may not only depend on the routing, but also on the fare that you select, as Delta SkyMiles doesn’t credit any miles at all for basic fares. Delta’s basic economy is issued in booking class E, while its Main fare and all of KLM and Air France’s flights are issued in booking class V. To give you an example, flying non-stop from Madrid in Delta’s basic economy should get you roughly:

  • 3,580 Award Miles + 50 Tier Points on Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
  • 3,580 RDM + 716 MQD on Delta SkyMiles
  • 1,790 Miles on MEA Cedar Miles

Information & Tips for USA

The United States offers a wide range of tourist sights, from national parks like Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon to cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. The currency is the U.S. dollar (USD), and card payments are widely accepted. Prices vary by region but can be high in major cities, especially for accommodation and dining. Weather differs greatly across the country—winters can be harsh in the north, while the south often stays mild; summers are generally hot and humid in many areas.

The U.S. transport infrastructure is highly car-dependent, especially outside major cities. Urban centres like New York, Chicago, and San Francisco have functional public transit, but many other cities have limited options. Between cities, domestic flights are common for long distances, while intercity buses and Amtrak trains cover some routes, though often with slower speeds and less frequency compared to other countries. Without a car, getting around can be inconvenient in many parts of the country.
