Etihad Airways – in cooperation with partner airlines – is offering a great deal on Business Class flights from Oslo to Phuket. Round-trips from Europe to Thailand can be booked for prices starting at €1,345 (~NOK 15,782).
Your trip will include two layovers — one in Europe and another one in Etihad’s hub, Abu Dhabi. Altogether, your trip will take around 24 hours.
A partner airline, such as SAS, Lufthansa or KLM, will operate the first segment of your journey. The carrier will fly you to London, Manchester, Munich, Amsterdam, or, in some cases, Brussels. From there, Etihad will operate an Airbus A380, a Boeing 787 or a Boeing 777 on the next two flights from Europe to Asia via Abu Dhabi.
All Etihad flights will offer lie-flat seats in addition to their outstanding service on board. The carrier from the United Arab Emirates used to be a 5-star airline and is still keeping up this high standard. Check out the following reviews to get a better idea of what Etihad Business Class is all about:
Search & Book
Tickets will be sold until March 1, 2020 according to the fare rules. The offer is valid if you book trips with outbound flights within the following periods:
- Before April 12th
- April 26th through June 25th
You can stay up to 4 months if you want to book the promoted fare. The minimum stay requirements are 3 days. But this is FYI only since we assume that no one wants to travel to Thailand for a long weekend.
Google Flights (instructions) will show you all available connections. As always, you can choose if you want to use our Travel-Dealz flight search to compare prices that OTAs offer or if you prefer to book directly on the carrier’s website (which we recommend for all Business Class tickets).
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
Mileage
Tickets for all segments with Etihad Airways will be issued in booking class W. This can get you an earning rate between 100% and 150% with various frequent flyer programs, including Etihad Guest. For the example in the screenshot above, you should expect the following number of miles.

Information & Tips for Phuket
Phuket is famous for its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife in Patong, cultural sights like the Big Buddha, and nearby islands such as Phi Phi and Phang Nga Bay. The local currency is the Thai baht (THB), and credit cards are widely accepted in tourist areas. Prices in Phuket can vary; luxury resorts and fine dining can be expensive, but there are plenty of affordable options for food and accommodation, especially outside the main tourist hubs. The weather is tropical, with a hot, humid climate year-round, and the best time to visit is during the dry season from November to March.
