Finding cheap business class fares from Oneworld member Qatar Airways currently needs some trickery, like booking open jaws instead of roundtrips. One of the open jaws is currently available to Cape Town, South Africa. With departure from Milan and going back to Vienna, flights start at €1,680. A fare that includes lounge access.
You can use our Go2 search tool to find these flights. There are availabilities from June 2023 through February 2024.

Qatar Airways uses a wide variety of airplanes on this route. Between Milan and Cape Town, you will sit in a Boeing 777-300ER or Airbus A350 aircraft, all with a decent chance of featuring Qsuite cabins. Between Doha and Vienna, Qatar Airways deploys Boeing 787 or Airbus A320 aircraft. While those planes do not feature Qsuites, you can still expect a dedicated business class cabin with proper lie-flat seats.
Search & Book
According to the fare rules, tickets are on sale at this price until March 31, 2023. You can travel between June 2023 and February 2024, but need to stay at least five days in South Africa to get the lowest fare.
Google Flights is the most convenient way to find suitable flight dates. Due to the nature of its multistop search, you still have to use trial and error to find the cheapest tickets. We recommend booking directly with Qatar Airways.
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
Make sure that you don’t get fooled by Qatar Airways’ pricing. In this curious case, the Business Classic fare (incl. lounge access) is cheaper than the dreaded Lite fare.

Information & Tips for Cape Town
Cape Town, located at the tip of South Africa, is known for its stunning natural beauty, with top sights like Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, and the nearby Cape of Good Hope. The local currency is the South African rand (ZAR), and while credit cards are commonly accepted in major areas, cash is still useful in smaller shops. Prices can be quite affordable compared to Western destinations, making it a budget-friendly choice for many travellers. The weather is Mediterranean, with warm, dry summers (December to February) and mild, wet winters (June to August), making spring and autumn the most pleasant times to visit.

Information & Tips for South Africa
South Africa offers a diverse range of attractions, from the iconic Table Mountain and Robben Island in Cape Town to the wildlife-rich Kruger National Park and the scenic Garden Route. The local currency is the South African rand (ZAR), and while credit cards are widely accepted, cash is still commonly used, especially in smaller towns. The cost of travel is generally affordable, with budget-friendly options available for accommodation, food, and activities. The weather varies by region: the coastal areas have mild, Mediterranean-like climates, while the inland areas can be hot and dry in summer and cooler in winter.
South Africa’s transport infrastructure is mixed in quality and convenience. Within cities, public transport is limited, with minibus taxis being common but often confusing for visitors; private cars or ride-hailing apps like Uber are more reliable. Between cities, domestic flights are the fastest option due to long distances, while intercity buses offer affordable travel, though journeys can be long. Trains exist, but are generally slow and not widely used for tourism.

Robert is correct. The deal cannot be reached here 3 hours before time of xpire.
Hi Per! That’s curious. May I ask from which country you are browsing, so we can look into this? Because as I write this, prices have risen by just €110 for the dates in the deal button. It would be important for us to know if the prices are just available in certain countries. Thanks in advance!
Hi Felix.
I`m browsing from Denmark. I tried to find the deal – first in december and then in january but with appr 2.5 times the price as advertised for a 10 days trip.
Thanks for the good jpob U are doing om the your page .
Best regards
Per H.
Thanks, Per! Like stated above, even if we gave a travel period for our deals, it does not mean that there is daily availability. That’s way we state in the Search & Book section looking for dates might be tiresome, as there is no convenient way to search for multistop or open-jaw flights. I’m sorry to hear you were not able to find the advertised fare.
I simply did not take it lightly to be accused of conning people with false fares, given that we put a lot of time in finding and presenting these fares and hold ourselves to pretty high standards throughout the process.
Hi there I couldn’t find these flights on Qatar for October time it’s seems like I’m being led down a garden path when I book a one way it’s like 3-4000 euro and that’s a joke I don’t see open jaw on their website sorry same thing when I looked at open jaw to Bangkok return to Amsterdam and leave from Oslo, stop conning readers plz about false fares that don’t exist
Hi Robert!
I understand your frustration about not finding the fares. However, we are never conning readers.
None of the fares we mention are available all the time or indefinitely. Sometimes, fares expire before we notice.
In this case however, you can still book the advertised fare by clicking the “Show Deal” button.
Here is a working example for late October: https://go2.travel-dealz.eu/?type=flights&from%5B0%5D=MXP&to%5B0%5D=CPT&date_out%5B0%5D=2023-10-17&from%5B1%5D=CPT&to%5B1%5D=VIE&date_out%5B1%5D=2023-10-28&oneway=true&cabinclass=C&direct=false&adults=1&children=0&infants=0¤cy=EUR&airlines=QR&destination=qatarairways
Please tell us how we can make it easier to find good fares instead of accusing us.
