Porto & New York: €169 / £145 Oneway TAP-Flights from Gatwick (Cabin Bags Only)

Star Alliance member TAP currently sells oneway tickets from London to New York at a very attractive price. For only €169 (~£148), the airline takes you across the Atlantic, as long as you spent between one and five days in Porto between flights. The cheapest fare including checked bags is available at €242 (~£211) on TAP’s website.

It is also possible to stay in Lisbon, flights via the capital start at €190 (~£166). However, you would still need to change planes in Porto on your way from London to Lisbon.

A TAP Airbus A320 or a Portugalia Embraer 190 handles the short haul flights between London and Porto. The latter might be preferable, as the seat pitch on Portugalia’s planes is more generous than on TAP’s mainline fleet. An Airbus A321LR will take you from Portugal to Newark, with a 3-3 seating in economy class and personal IFE for every passenger.
