Japanese long-haul low-cost carrier Zipair has put a decent price-tag on flights from Los Angeles to Tokyo-Narita airport, selling oneway tickets across the Pacific for as little as €176. This fare does not include anything but the transport. The cheapest bundle including a checked bag up to 30 kg and in-flight meal service comes at €276 on the airlines’ website. Only a personal item is part of both prices, a cabin bag costs extra, too.

ZIPAIR operates a fleet of seven Boeing 787-8 aircraft out of Tokyo-Narita airport. The carrier serves international medium- and long-haul destinations from their hub, relying on a hardcore-no frills concept (similar to Scoot). Almost anything beyond the transport has to be purchased separately. For example, a 540 ml bottle of drinking water comes with the price-tag of JP¥250 (~€1).
While the seats don’t feature screens to watch movies, even in economy class, each passenger has its own power outlet.
