For the end of the winter season SAS Scandinavian Airlines brings us a last minute deal from Scandinavia to Bangkok in business class starting at just €841. This fare includes 2×32 kg checked luggage and all the business class perks. Departures are available in April.
These are some of the airports where you can take advantage of this deal:
- Oslo at €841 (~NOK 9,843)
- Bergen at €841 (~NOK 9,843)
- Kristiansand at €842 (~NOK 9,855)
- Stockholm at €875 (~SEK 9,664)
- Malmö at €899 (~SEK 9,929)
There are also affordable tickets available in economy class, e.g, from Kristiansand starting at €229, including 23 kg of luggage.
There are also reward tickets available in Business Class for 50,000 points + approximately €100, however availability is dying fast.
The direct flight from Copenhagen costs €1,332 (~DKK 9,943), while from Malmö it costs €899 (~DKK 6,711). The Malmö flight won’t be direct, but you will save €433 (~DKK 3,232) on your ticket.
Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to SAS with your selected flight dates.

All flights include a layover in Copenhagen. For the feeder flight, you will be seated in SAS Plus without a free middle seat.
The long haul flight will be on a SAS Airbus A350 with 1-2-1 configuration. In my opinion, the Vantage XL seats are among the best and most comfortable on the market.
If you’re looking for a more budget friendly way to get to Thailand, we have another deal from Oslo to Bangkok starting at €91:
Search & Book
You can find suitable dates using our calendar above or with the help of Google Flights. We recommend booking directly on SAS’s website, but you can find cheaper prices with Skyscanner. However, booking on OTAs has its downsides.
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
Mileage
This ticket is issued in booking class J. Here are the miles and points you can earn from this deal from Oslo:
- 11,376 Award Miles on TAP Miles&Go
- 11,376 RDM + 1,137 MQD on Delta SkyMiles
- 9,700 Points on SAS EuroBonus
- 8,801 Award Miles + 46 XP on Flying Blue
- 8,533 Award Miles on Etihad Guest
- 8,533 Miles on Korean Air Skypass
- 8,533 Miles on Aerolíneas Argentinas AerolíneasPlus
- 8,533 Miles on Saudia Alfursan
- 8,533 Miles on Air Europa Suma
- 8,051 Award Miles + 50 Tier Points on Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
- 7,110 Miles on Singapore KrisFlyer

SAS has announced that it will leave the Star Alliance to join SkyTeam. The date of the switch is unknown. Should your flight take place after the switch, you probably won’t be able to earn any miles at any Star Alliance program. You also might not be able to use your Star Alliance status benefits.

Information & Tips for Thailand
Thailand is famous for its vibrant cities, beautiful beaches, and rich cultural heritage. Key sights include the Grand Palace and Wat Pho in Bangkok, the ancient city of Ayutthaya, and the islands of Phuket and Koh Samui. The currency is the Thai baht (THB), and while credit cards are commonly accepted in tourist areas, cash is often preferred in local markets. The cost of living is generally low, with budget accommodations and street food available, but prices can rise in more touristy areas. The weather is tropical, with a hot, rainy season from May to October and a cooler, dry season from November to February.
Getting around Thailand is fairly easy, with a mix of modern and traditional options. In cities like Bangkok, public transport includes the Skytrain (BTS), metro (MRT), and river ferries, which are convenient but can get crowded. Taxis and motorbike taxis are also widely available. For intercity travel, buses and trains are common and affordable, though train journeys can be slow. Domestic flights are frequent and often the fastest way to travel longer distances, especially to popular islands or northern regions. However, traffic congestion in urban areas can be a challenge, particularly during rush hours.

The city is relatively affordable, with street food and public transport offering great value. Bangkok has a tropical climate, with hot and humid weather year-round, a rainy season from May to October, and cooler, more comfortable temperatures from November to February.
