H-Hotels HotMiles Status Match

HotMiles, the loyalty program of H-Hotels, has been offering a status match for some time now. If you hold a status with other hotel chains, you can easily match it to Gold status with H-Hotels.

The Hotmiles Gold card comes with a few interesting benefits. The most attractive one is certainly access to the Executive Lounge (if available). Additionally, there is also an upgrade upon availability.

About H-Hotels

Although the H-Hotels brand may not be as well-known as Marriott and others, it is quite significant in the German-speaking region. There are more than 60 H-Hotels in total in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and one in Budapest.

Some of the brands (H.ostels, H2 Hotels, H+ Hotels) cater more to budget travellers, while others offer an upscale standard (H4 Hotels, Hyperion). An overview of all hotel locations can be found here. However, five hotels do not participate in the Hotmiles program.

Gold Status Benefits

With Gold status, you can enjoy the following benefits:

• Access to the Executive Lounge (where available, in Hyperion and some H4 Hotels)
• Room upgrade upon availability
• Double base HotMiles
• HotMiles expire after three years (instead of one year) on December 31st
• Small welcome gift (not available at all hotels)

Normally, you would need to stay at H-Hotels 10 times within a year to achieve Gold status. The status is then valid for one year. Additionally, from 20 nights per year, you’d get 5x HotMiles that no longer expire and guaranteed room upgrades.

Status Match from Other Hotel Loyalty Programs

For some time, H-Hotels offered an official status match from Hilton Honors, Marriott Bonvoy, and others. The landing page for this is no longer online, but the match still exists, as shown by reports on StatusMatcher.com. We requested the match ourselves and received the confirmation within a few hours.

Procedure

You can receive the match by following these steps:

1. First, you need to sign up at HotMiles (if you haven’t already).
2. After signing up, email hotmiles@h-hotels.com the following details:
   • Your HotMiles ID (received via email)
   • Your full name
   • A photo/screenshot of your existing status with another hotel chain
3. HotMiles will review your request. In most cases, you will receive a response within one business day.

The status is initially valid for one year, after which you will be downgraded. However, based on our experience, it is possible to request the match again after the status has expired.
