Are you planning a trip to India within the next few months? If so, there’s a very affordable opportunity to try out Air India‘s newest business class cabin. A one-way ticket between Chennai and Bangalore starts at just €44 per direction.
The direct flight from Chennai to Bangalore takes just over an hour. However, if you’d like, you can also choose longer connections via Mumbai or Hyderabad, allowing you to spend up to 4 hours in the business class seat. And all this aboard a brand-new Airbus A350 with the latest Business Suite (with privacy door).
Unfortunately, availability is limited to June and July 2024. After that, the only option is to fly with narrow-body aircraft.
We don’t expect anyone to travel to India solely for this deal. However, you should familiarize yourself with the entry requirements, as a visa is required, among other things. The e-Visa costs between €10 and €24 depending on the travel period (fee table).
Rebookings cost ₹2,500 (~€24), cancellations ₹3,500 (~€34). Both would therefore be of little use.
To book, you can use our search form. It will take you to Skyscanner, from where you can be redirected directly to Air India for booking. We have marked the cheapest dates in green:

The Airbus A350s come from an order that was originally intended for Aeroflot. They are equipped with staggered Collins Horizon Premier seats (with privacy doors).
There are several ways to get from Bangalore to Chennai. With the Airbus A350 you have the following options (depending on the day of the week):
- Nonstop (flight time 1h 10min)
- via Mumbai (flight time 1h 45min + 1h 15min layover + 2h)
- via Hyderabad (flight time 1h + 1h 15min layover + 1h 10min)
We cannot say whether or not you have to leave the plane during the layover. If you want to maximize your time on board, you should fly via Mumbai. In addition, numerous connections are offered on the Airbus A320 (with and without transfer). There you have a 2-2 seating arrangement and “only” leather seats without a reclining function.
Search & Book
According to the fare rules, the flights can be booked until June 14, 2024 for the following travel periods:
- June & July 2024 (Bangalore → Chennai)
- June to September 2024 (Chennai → Bangalore)
As described above, the Airbus A350 is currently only scheduled for domestic flights until the end of July. You can find suitable dates using our form above or with the help of Google Flights. You can then book directly from Air India’s website. When booking through AirIndia.com, flights with the A350 are highlighted in gold:

Information & Tips for India
India is a large and diverse country with major tourist sights like the Taj Mahal in Agra, the forts and palaces of Rajasthan, the backwaters of Kerala, and spiritual cities like Varanasi and Rishikesh. The currency used is the Indian Rupee (INR). Prices vary widely—budget travel is possible, but mid-range and luxury options are also common, especially in tourist-heavy areas. Weather depends heavily on region and season: winters (Nov–Feb) are generally pleasant, while summers (Mar–June) can be extremely hot, and the monsoon (June–Sept) brings heavy rainfall in many parts.
India’s transport infrastructure is a mix of modern and outdated systems. Within cities, getting around can be chaotic but manageable—options include auto-rickshaws, taxis, metro systems in larger cities like Delhi and Mumbai, and app-based services like Uber and Ola. Between cities, India has an extensive railway network that’s affordable but often crowded and prone to delays; domestic flights are common and relatively inexpensive for longer distances. Roads connect most places, but traffic and conditions can be unpredictable.
