If you’re planning a round-the-world trip in business class, it might be worth starting your journey in Tunisia. From there, Oneworld member Royal Jordanian is offering an exciting one-way fare to Hong Kong for just €676. The trip requires two layovers, with the final leg from Bangkok to Hong Kong operated by Cathay Pacific.
Tickets start at €676. It gets even more appealing with the option to add stopovers in Amman (Jordan) or Bangkok (Thailand) for a small additional fee—you can even choose to do both.
Depending on whether and where you’d like to have a stopover, prices vary slightly:
- without stopover at €677
- with a stopover in Bangkok at €697
- With a stopover in Amman at €737
- With stopover in Amman + Bangkok at €757
While Tunisia, Bangkok, and Hong Kong can generally be visited without a visa, a visa is required for Jordan (in the case of a stopover). This costs JOD 40 (~€49).
The fare can be cancelled for a fee of only TND 50 (~€15). However, the fare rules state that any fuel surcharges will not be refunded. Therefore, you must expect a total cancellation fee of approximately 155 €.
To book through Skyscanner, you can use our search form. You can also find the non-stop flights best through the multi-stop search (with a short stay in Amman or Bangkok). Availability is good from August 2024 to April 2025:

First, you’ll fly with Royal Jordanian from Tunis to Amman, Jordan, on an Airbus A319/A321. This approximately four-hour flight offers recliner seats in a 2-2 configuration (instead of the standard 3-3 in economy).
After a layover of about seven hours (from approximately 7 PM to 3 AM), you’ll continue to Bangkok on a Boeing 787. This nearly nine-hour flight features lie-flat seats in a 2-2-2 configuration. The Collins Diamond seats might be familiar to those who have flown in Lufthansa business class.
Finally, there’s a connecting flight from Bangkok to Hong Kong. This flight is operated by Cathay Pacific, which uses various aircraft, including Airbus A330, A350, and A321. It’s best to avoid the A321 if possible, as only the other two types offer spacious lie-flat seats.
Search & Book
This deal does not have an expiration date or a minimum or maximum stay, as it is a one-way flight. Departures are available from August 2024 to April 2025
You can find suitable dates using our calendar above or with the help of Google Flights. Unfortunately, booking directly with Royal Jordanian does not seem to be possible, so the only options are third-party providers such as Skyscanner. However, booking on OTAs has its downsides.
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
