SkyTeam airline Aeromexico is currently selling business class flights from Amsterdam to Santiago de Chile for only €1,822. While this isn’t the most direct way, and you can sometimes even find flights that are a bit cheaper (with Alitalia for instance), this flight is ideal for a mileage run. By flying over Mexico, you will enjoy many additional hours of business class luxury, and also get almost 40,000 redeemable miles (and almost 30,000 status miles) for Delta Skymiles, 132 XPs for Flying Blue, or even over 63,000 Aeromexico Club Premier miles. Either way, those amounts are enough to qualify for the SkyTeam Elite status.

The flight times are not ideal. Especially on the way back, you’ll have a very long layover, being in Mexico City from 5:05 until 23:25. You could, however, use this opportunity to explore the Mexican capital, and then relax a bit in the airport lounge between your long-haul flights.
Both flights are operated with Boeing 787-Dreamliners. You’ll be allowed to take 2 pieces of luggage on your trip, and enjoy all the other comforts of business class, such as lounge access and priority boarding.
Search & Book
The fare rules do not state until when this price will be available. The only thing they mention is that the trip length is limited to 12 months.
Sadly, Google Flights isn’t showing the prices on the calendar but only shows them if you select specific dates. You’ll have to try around. We found high availability from October onwards, except in December. Google Flights will redirect you to Expedia for prices of a bit over €2,000. If you use those dates in our Travel-Dealz flight search, however, you’ll save over €100.

Aeromexico’s Business Class
Aeromexico’s Boeing 787 fleet Clase Premier offers you lie-flat-seats sorounded by covers to maximize privacy. The seat offers storage for small, personal items and is reclinable by touchscreen. Information & Tips for Santiago de Chile
Santiago de Chile, the country’s capital nestled at the foot of the Andes, offers a mix of historic and modern attractions. Key sights include the panoramic Cerro San Cristóbal, the bustling Plaza de Armas, and the nearby vineyards in the Maipo Valley. The local currency is the Chilean peso (CLP), and while prices are moderate by global standards, Santiago can feel expensive compared to other South American cities—expect higher costs in dining and accommodation. The weather is Mediterranean: hot, dry summers (December–March) and mild, rainy winters (June–August), so pack accordingly.
