Kimpton’s Social Password: Say the Magic Word and Get A Surprise During Check-In

Kimpton De Witt Amsterdam Lobby

For several years, Kimpton Hotels have run a social password promotion, which is one of the most interesting ideas when it comes to running a hotel promotion. It basically works like this: You stay at a Kimpton Hotel, utter a specific phrase during check-in, and get a surprise gift from the reception staff.

During the last 5+ years of this promotion, guests have been surprised with all kinds of things. Gifts range from free breakfast, free parking or a room upgrade to complimentary beverages or local spirits. The hotels are famous for their creativity when it comes to this offer. To give you an idea, there is an entire FlyerTalk thread covering this topic. The current social password can be used during stays between May 19 and August 31, 2025.

The social password for Summer 2025 is:

About Kimpton Hotels

Kimpton Hotels are part of the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG). Because of that, you can earn and spend IHG One Rewards when staying at their properties. In some cases, you get more worthwhile gifts if you hold a status with the program. The second-highest tier Platinum Elite is basically up for purchase, as it is part of an InterContinental Ambassador subscription for US$225 (~โ‚ฌ192) (or 45,000 points) for 12 months. Though, it’s certainly not worth a purchase just for the off-chance of a better gift.

There are currently 64 Kimpton Hotels across five continents. Feel free to use our Go2 tool when booking stays at Kimpton Hotels, with either cash or points:
