TAP Miles&Go is celebrating its 6th birthday and has launched an interesting offer: For all TAP flights booked between November 6 and November 10, 2024, you’ll earn sextuple status miles! You simply need to enter the following promo code: 6BDAYMGUS.
The flights can take place anytime until November 5, 2025. The additional status miles should be credited within 15 working days of the regular miles being credited to your account. However, there is a limit to all of this: You can earn max. 6,000 status miles through this promotion.
That 6,000-mile limit sadly damps any enthusiasm about this deal. While extra status miles are always a welcome gift, the “6x” part is vastly diminished by this low limit. To put it into perspective, an economy class round trip from Lisbon to Toronto in basic economy earns you around 3,500 miles. If your bonus is capped at 6,000, that’s not 6x the original amount, but 2.7x the original amount.
To get the full 6,000 miles bonus for as little money as possible, you could fly the following trips in both directions (in economy classic):

- Lisbon – Paris: €145
- Lisbon – Tenerife: €146

If you’re new to frequent flyer programs, let us say that TAP Miles&Go is usually not one of the easiest programs to reach a frequent flyer status. Gold status has a 70,000 miles threshold, and even with these 6,000 bonus points, that’s far higher than what you need at other programs, such as Aegean Miles+Bonus, Asiana Club, or Turkish Miles&Smiles, where you need max. 40,000 miles to reach the Star Alliance Gold status.
