Manila, Philippines: €831 China Southern Business Class from Doha (or €955 Non-stop with Philippine Airlines)

China Southern 787 9

Great deals for business class flights from Doha to the Philippines are not uncommon, but it’s been a few months since we had China Southern offer this deal. While the other offers are non-stop, China Southern makes up for its Guangzhou layover by offering the cheapest price (and a good product). This time, these business class tickets are on sale for €837 (~QAR 3,571).

The offer includes two lie-flat rides from Doha to China (roughly 8 hours long) and a 150-minute flight in a recliner seat from Guangzhou to Manila. Tickets at that price are available until January 2026.

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to trip.com or China Southern with your selected flight dates.

Availability gets even broader if you don’t mind an overnight layover in Guangzhou.

On some days, you can even fly lie-flat to Manila.

The non-stop fare has basically no restrictions.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Getting to Doha

From other airports in the region, Doha is relatively easy and cheap to reach, with economy roundtrips from the UAE starting at €156. From Europe, we recommend having a closer look at Pegasus Airlines’ sales to the Middle East, that often include round trips to Qatar for less than €300 with luggage. If you are interested in a connection with a little more comfort, you can expect to around €500 for a roundtrip, e.g. from Paris with Gulf Air, Etihad or Doha’s own Qatar Airways.

Information & Tips for Guangzhou

Guangzhou is formerly known as Canton in many western counties. It is the most influential metropolis in Southern China. Although in these days it is overshadowed by neighbouring cities Shenzhen and Hong Kong (both can be reached by car within an hour), Guangzhou has a much larger legacy than those flashy up-and-comers. Its name is patron to both dialect and culture of the whole region – Cantonese. The local currency is the Chinese yuan (CNY), and most transactions are done via mobile apps like WeChat Pay or Alipay, though cash is still accepted. Prices are moderate, with affordable street food and reasonable hotel rates. The weather is humid and subtropical, with hot summers and mild winters, so pack light clothing and an umbrella, especially during the rainy season from April to September.
