The Route
The cruise starts in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, which is also one of the oldest cities in Europe. After leaving Portugal, the first stop is Cádiz, in southern Spain. This coastal city boasts several kilometres of sandy beaches. A highlight is the market hall, where fresh fish and a variety of seafood are sold almost daily.
Next, the ship heads to Málaga, where you can visit attractions such as the Alcazaba Palace and Pablo Picasso’s birthplace.
A major focus of this itinerary is the Canary Islands, with the Norwegian Star making stops at La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Lanzarote. The Canaries are often referred to as the “Islands of Eternal Spring” due to their mild year-round climate, which ensures pleasant temperatures even in summer.
Afterwards, the ship sets course for Agadir. This Moroccan port city features a wide bay with a long sandy beach along the Atlantic. Highlights include the Bird Park, the Souk El Had market, and the Kasbah ruins.
The final stop before returning to Lisbon is Casablanca, where you can visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. The return journey includes a relaxing day at sea, allowing passengers to enjoy the ship’s amenities.
