USA: €1,313 Nonstop Oneworld Business Class from Madrid

Iberia Business Class

Oneworld carriers American Airlines and Iberia are selling a lot of great business class fares for nonstop flights from Madrid to Miami, Boston, New York, and Chicago. Tickets currently only cost €1,313 from Madrid. If flying nonstop is not important to you, you can also fly to other US cities, or from other cities in Spain. Flights at the lowest price are available from June 2022 onwards.

Info

Iberia has some of the worst Covid-19 refund policies out there, as your way to a refund might require things like an actual Covid-19 infection.

Some, but not all of these flights are also sold by British Airways, which offers better flexibility. BA allows you to cancel all flights starting before August 31, 2022, in exchange for a voucher. You can use that voucher for booking made up until September 30, 2023. It cannot be exchanged for a monetary refund, though.

Our availability calendar shows all non-stop round trips for a travel duration of up to 28 days. It can either forward you to Iberia’s website or British Airways’ website. While not changing planes might be the most convenient to travel, some of you might also look to add stops to earn points or segments. These connections are available at the same price as the non-stop options.

This offer is available for the following non-stop roundtrips:

The flights are either Iberia (Airbus A330) or American Airlines (Boeing 767 & 777) services. In some cases, you can select which airline you’d prefer.

According to fare rules, it is unclear when this deal will expire. Nevertheless, a minimum stay of at least one night from Saturday to Sunday applies. This fare is only available for flights from Monday through Thursday. Availability is great starting July 2022. In order to get the cheapest tickets, you need to book 180 days before departure.

You can find all these flight combinations (and more including layovers) on Google Flights, as well as at our calendar above, which can either redirect you to Iberia’s website or British Airways’ website.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Mileage

The tickets are issued in booking class I. To give you an example, a nonstop round trip to Boston should get you:

  • 10,206 Miles on American AAdvantage
  • 10,206 Points on Finnair Plus
  • 8,506 Avios + 60 Qpoints on Qatar Privilege Club
  • 8,506 AsiaMiles + 90 Club Points on Asia Miles
  • 8,506 Award Miles on Royal Air Maroc Safar Flyer
  • 8,506 Miles on Royal Jordanian Royal Club
  • 8,506 Miles on SriLankan FlySmiLes
  • 8,506 Award Miles on LATAM Pass

The British Airways Executive Club and Iberia Plus are among the best options for these flights.

Business Class Products

Iberia is one of the few airlines that has the same product on (almost) all long-haul planes. Merely a few A350s have a different CL6720 seat, which are basically modern suites. But even with the other seats, you always have direct access to the aisle. The seats which are directly next to the aisle (in every 2nd row), however, only offer limited privacy. In total, it’s a very good product – also thanks to the good food and in-flight entertainment.

Iberia Business Class

Even if American Airlines doesn’t enjoy a good reputation for many, its business class is very good. Every seat on wide-body planes has direct access to the aisle and the service, as well as the food and the seat, are at a very high standard. Travel-Dealz founder Johannes tested the Boeing 777 and really enjoyed the flight.

Information & Tips for USA

The United States offers a wide range of tourist sights, from national parks like Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon to cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. The currency is the U.S. dollar (USD), and card payments are widely accepted. Prices vary by region but can be high in major cities, especially for accommodation and dining. Weather differs greatly across the country—winters can be harsh in the north, while the south often stays mild; summers are generally hot and humid in many areas.

The U.S. transport infrastructure is highly car-dependent, especially outside major cities. Urban centres like New York, Chicago, and San Francisco have functional public transit, but many other cities have limited options. Between cities, domestic flights are common for long distances, while intercity buses and Amtrak trains cover some routes, though often with slower speeds and less frequency compared to other countries. Without a car, getting around can be inconvenient in many parts of the country.

We’ve compared various esim providers, such as Knowroaming and Ubigi. To see which plan is best for your travel needs and which network offers the best coverage, feel free to read our detailed guide:

Iberia Booked for August. Via Amex 200€ travel credit got the 1062€ price. Bookd on Amex online with BA for a flight credit in case of cancelation. Amex oferd a 40 discount for booking same flight if booked on iberia or AA. For Me BA option was more trust if change required.

Nice deal even though I am not a huge oneworld fan and positioning in this day and age is huge pain. As usual only the typical “tourism” and “business” cities. What if I wanted to go to Cincinnati, Utah, Portland Oregon or – so help me god – Kentucky? I guess in this sick world its cheaper to fly to San Francisco than to fly to Cincinnati.
