With the Norwegian Gem from Norwegian Cruise Line, you can embark on a 5-night cruise to the Bahamas in November 2025. The journey takes you from Jacksonville, Florida to Jacksonville, Florida and includes numerous stops in the Bahamas, including Grand Bahama, Great Stirrup Cay, and Nassau. The current price of €33 per night is a true bargain for an oceanview cabin on such an attractive route.
You can currently book a 5-night cruise in an inside cabin from just €162 per person. However, the oceanview cabins from €188 and balcony cabins from €448 are significantly more appealing (prices per person based on double occupancy). Route
The cruise starts in Jacksonville. We recommend arriving a few days early to explore this lesser-known city in Florida. You can visit the Jacksonville Zoo or the botanical garden. The historic districts of Riverside and San Marco are also worthwhile, as is attending an NFL game of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Norwegian Gem leaves the port in the afternoon and sets course for Grand Bahama Island.
There you will find the Lucayan National Park, the largest underwater cave system in the Bahamas. You can also enjoy island life on the numerous beaches. A guided tour is the best way to learn more about the island’s history and culture. The very next day, the journey continues with a stop at Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s private island.
On the fourth day of the trip, the Norwegian Gem finally reaches Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas. The pink-painted government buildings are typical here, giving the city a colonial charm. Those looking for souvenirs will find them on Bay Street or at the Straw Market.
To conclude the journey, you can wind down with a relaxing day at sea. After five nights, the Norwegian Gem returns to its starting point in Jacksonville.

Most Europeans need an electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) to enter the USA for up to 90 days. This costs US$21 (~€19) and you should apply for it a couple of days before your trip, at the latest.
There are some cases where you cannot apply for an ESTA, e.g. if you’ve been to Cuba since 2021 or to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, or North Korea since March 2011. In those cases, you’ll need to get a visa from a US embassy or consulate, which can take multiple weeks.
